Mmmm New Parts

So,

Victoria British and Mazdatrix must love me. Over $1,100.00 worth of parts in total from the both of them.

That's not even half the parts.

Does anyone want a write up on replacing the rear shocks? (It's so easy!)

Thanks,
Eric

Oh, and very very nice exposed aggregate job on your floor. That was hand topped instead of rinsed. Seriously !

Well,

I don't know if you're talking about the rocky surface or the smooth. It's got grease spots from the freezer taking a dump when the power went out last night.

That's a leave, I'm plagued by them in my backyard (that's where my garage is, on the backside of the house).

They like to stick to my Thunderbird and it has pearl white paint, not good.

Yes,

Yellow Leaf

I'd do a write up, it's VERY simple. I'm not going to take back off the shock again just because I don't want to ruin the bushings below and above the top but I can do everything else.

1) Take off the wheel.
2) Put another jack under the shock and jack it up a little (just a little).
3) Take off the metric bolt off the bottom of the shock.
4) Take off the rear speaker covers.
5) Take off the bolt on the top and take off the bushing and metal ring.

*NOTE THE WAY THEY COME OFF*

6) Pull her out of the wheel well.
7) Put the new bushing and metal piece on the bottom of the top of the shock.
8) Push it through the hole.
9) Put the jack under the shock again and put the bolt back through the bottom.
10) Put the metal piece and bushing on the top.
11) Tighten bottom bolt to 50 lbs of torque
12) Go ramping!

When I go to do springs (got to find a compressor) I’ll take pictures. If anyone has any questions just ask!

I wonder if the RX7 club is interested in a professionaly done site? I do it for a living and would do it for free.

Nope,

I was actually planning on buying piece by piece and my dad called and during the middle of the conversation mentioned that he ordered about $1,100 worth of parts. He's got an RX7 on the way too so I guess he's going to screw up mine before his! :P

Kate's Playground eh, I'm about to do something very illegal to scope it out...

Me too, it was fine though....... their motor mounts are a diferent story

I lived near Kansas City at the time so I went to their warehouse and inspected all of them and they were all lopsided as ****, so I had to deal with it.....

Yikes,

So where would I get engine mounts at? That's who I was planning on getting them from...

OT - Also, how hard is it to turbo a little 13B like this? Is it possible? I don't want to do a full swap to a TII from a 2nd generation because that's very costly.

I'm more interested in ease rather than cost.

I dunno who else has motor mounts, maybe Mazda. Thats why I bought mine from Vicky B. It's not like it's rediculously crooked, It's just that one of the rubber pucks was taller than the other and the pegs on both of the mounts where off center. they just looked shoddy as hell when I was puting them in and it bothers the **** outta me.

Have you checked out Camden supper chargers at www.atkinsrotary.com that is the way I would go if I was going to force induct' a six port......

Well,

That's an intense sight.

So, you can hook a S/C up to a rotary? learn something new everyday (I know I know forced induction)

Well,

I havent gotten to actually test them out fully (as in a controlled 60 mph turn in a parking lot) but for just everyday driving and street racing they've turned out to be pretty good. Not rough but not too luxury.

lol,

Alright,

Two fireball coils in, now what in the world is the D.F.I.S.L.B.A.G.C.T. mod that everyone talks about? (The butt dyno says this woke the beast up)

Front right strut & shock in, took freaking four hours with two EXPERIENCED people working at it, stupid springs didn’t even need to be compressed barely (50$ down the drain).

Doing the other one tomorrow night along with the new driveshaft that just came in from Mazda Trix, I'm not impressed with all the scratches on the driveshaft but beggars can't be choosers right.

I don't think it's too big a deal, some 2nd gen parts are required I think (I havent done it or looked into it much)

search the forum on the topic and you'll find lots of info.
If you don't find what you need, start a new thread.
