Minimizing Engine Bay Mess

I want to really really simplify my engine bay. Right how I have like 400 wires, tubes, cables, etc running all over the place. It's really really nasty looking. I would tie a lot of them back but most of them are too long.

I read somewhere on here that you could remove most of the environment-protection stuff and make the engine look great. I don't want to loose any functionality, such as A/C. But I do want to be able to get into my engine bay and clean stuff without having 400 wires and tubes to mess with.

depending on whatkind of emissions laws that you have where you live, you can just pull all of that crap out and just plug all of the openings with rubber caps. All of those wires are just misc. sensors and swithes that are not need to run so pull it out!! (be careful around the AC!) If you dont have a header yet, get one. If you don't and you remove all of your emmissions equip. it will backfire like a bitch, trust me. You wont gain much in the performance dept., but you will make things much cleaner looking and reliable. Jason

When you remove that stuff, it's important that you still keep the crankcase ventilation system. Search the forum for details, this question has been covered many times. And yeah, don't bother with this until you have a header and lose those cats, airpump, etc...
