metallic rattle & possible clutch issue
Hi.
I'm hearing a loud metallic rattle coming from underneath my car. I hear it occasionally while I'm driving at low RPM's and when the car warms up in the morning at about 1.5 RPM's.
It sounds like its coming from underneath the passenger side of the car.
What could cause something like this?
As far as the clutch is concerned....
When I'm in 1st gear, the car feels like something is buckeling under pressure, as if 1st gear does not want to catch causing the car buck forward. When this happens, I hit the clutch and again it feels like something is buckeling and there is a loud "THUNK" noise.
This occasionally happens in reverse as well.
Driving an 85 GSLSE, no modifications.
Any thoughts?
Thanks ppl.
M.

The rattle is probably just the heat shields hit each othr or the exhaust.
Idont think you need to worry about the clutch, it sounds more like the driveshaft is buckling upon loading.

Right.
It was the clutch. It was replaced, problem solved. The metallic rattle was due to a heat shield rattle. Drives a hell of a lot better and much less annoying.
