Me venting

Ok i am sure this belongs some where else but I dont go many other places. Ok i bought some rotor housings off ebay on Nov.14 Auction ended Nov. 11. I got the housings on Dec. 4. Seller chaged me $60 for shipping seamed a little high but I paid it didnt get a tracking # till 4 days before i got it. When i got the package it was packaged like ****. Box was Ripped and had serveral holes in it. He had insurance on it I was told he would have to file the claim. 4 days have past and haven't heard anything from him. 1 of the studs was broken he said it wasn't broken when he shipped it. I am giving it some time but i just need to vent a little. Tell me what you guys think. Here is a link to the box as i got it and the housing as soon as i removed them.

The stud is no biggie to fix or have fixed. I think the shipping was way too much. Hard to tell how the chrome is. Is it good? Are the housings dented at all from shipping?

It's hard to see the condition of the chromium on the housings. It's not uncommom for a box to get torn up like that if the package job wasn't taken care of. Is the stud the only thing that is damaged? What did you pay for them?

Yea it will work out. I realize i didnt ask the question i wanted to. Should i ask him to pay for the removal of the stud? Do you think I am asking to much to get some of my money back?

Well heres how I would approach it.
If the studs is easily removed, meaning that there is enough of the stud sticking out to get a grip on it an remove it. I Would just let it go.
If it needs to be drilled out and you wind up taking it to a machine shop then I would look for some sort of reimbursement.
It also depends on the full condition of the housings(other then the stud) as advertised versus what you received.

I think you should just move forward with your project, its not gonna cost that much to get it fixed, we all know the mail system around this time is not the best.

Do I think he is wrong for charging that much to ship it, yes I do. Is it a crime... No, but it should be lol.

Did you see pictures of it before he sent it to you. If the stud wasnt broken in the pics, then its not his fault, the post system should pay for it, but I wouldnt hold my breathe waiting for that check lol.

Its like if you sold a car, and on the transport company's 18 wheeler the car fell off, should you have the pay the money back to the buyer?

Now if the guy sold you damaged goods then by all means go for it. Im hopinh you didnt buy irons without seeing pics of them first!

The pics he had on the ad was shitty and he sent me some but they was mainly of the port work water jacket mod and the crome. The stub will need to be drilled out its broken off in there real good.

Need better pics. The porting looks good though. Check all of the mating edges for any dings, particularly around the coolant grooves.

Stud broke in shipping my ***, the box would be trashed if that was the case.

The housings are good except around 1 of the legs. Water Jacket area looks good all solid. The water jacket mod looks like it was done good. I belive the port work was done by racing beat that have racing beat information on the.

Nick, in all honesty you can try to have him pay for it but he will deny any liability, if he answers you at all, so have your vent then get on with building the engine, we all have these issues with ebay purchases, at least the rest of the deal looks like you got what you paid for.

Yea like I said it is just me venting. Over all I do think i got a good deal the shipping kinda pisses me off. I know the guy i bought them from is a forum member but i dont like to bad mouth any one. Unlike some people on here. Like my engine builder I am not happy with the product i got from him but I think if you search the forumn I have never said anything really bad about him or even said his name or company. I try to be very professional.

I think you've done very well in that regard, and IMHO you've become a credit to the forum in very quick time.

Ok i just got an email he hasn't tried to file an insurance claim yet I let him know about it as soon as i got the package. O and he is Expecting me to leave good feedback for him Because he left me good feedback. But I paid in the time he asked I paid the full about Didnt really bitch about the high shipping price. Realy I dont want something for free I just want what i paid for. 2 good street ported rotor housings with the water jacket mod in good condition NO broken studs. Is that to much to ask? I know I got a good Deal but it just seams like BS to me. Thanks Everyone for letting me vent.

You can leave the guy neutral feedback, stating that the item was not as described. Or, not leave feedback at all. This is providing that you haven't left him feedback, yet. Or, tell him that you can't leave feedback because he shipped you a bummed item. He may claim that it wasn't his fault but, you gotta do what you gotta do.
