The rx7 is gone for ever... It was really over when the FD came out as a twin turbo rocket and went away with the simplicity of the every man's sports car the RX7 stood for in my opinion. Just like you cant bring the old Grand Am or Chevelles back. That being said, a modern, updated rotary engine in a great handling vehicle, I would love it whatever you call it!!! Imagine today's technology in a rotary: that is what the 16x offers!

Nice but very extreme prototype....it will be a long time before a new rotary is in fact produced....if ever. The nissan dealership here is getting two R35's very soon....the owner of the dealership is dropping a lot of money into the service department so that he can get the car at his dealership....also has to send tech's to japan to learn the new USA car.

Anybody else think the new Ferrari Dino looks suspicously like a widebodied Porsche??? Like, a lot??? Not from the back, but the first time I saw it I thought it was the new RUF thats coming out...
And yeah, RX-7 is gone for good. Even if they make one with a great engine, they'll never get the looks right with all the new-fangled plastic looking crap around. And it'll probably weigh in at 3200+ lbs. not RX7 territory at all

they need to do what ford and chevy are doing.....take the most popular model of the rx-7, which would prob be the FD and just update the look, maybe fatten the FD a little with wider fenders and a more open front bumper to feed the stock FMIC, kinda like ford did with the stang and chevy is doing with the new camaro...old school look, new age appeal. then offer a Mazdaspeed 3 rotor version to take on the new GT-R and Supra.
