massive amounts of smoke when started

when i start my car in the morning it lets out a very large cloud of white smoke, is this just a sign of a needed tune-up? i do use the choke when it is cold- and the car seems to run good, whats up? thanks

hmmm

Sounds like a possible coolant leaking into your engine kinda thing....but if it doesn't smoke while it is running and warm.....then I have no idea. (possibly a small coolant leak, seeping through only after your engine contracts back to normal shape and goes away when heated....it is a possibility)

What is happening is quite normal at start up. If you still see white smoke after the engine has warmed up, then you have a problem with coolant leaking into the oil.
