marvel mystery oil..another question
will it hurt to put a quart of MMO in the "gas"..I was told it is very good and will not hurt the car/fuel system....but it will smoke real bad......anyone do it??.. Do you recommend doing it? Ihave no real problems with the car but, I thought it would be good maintenence....your ideas/ thoughts please...regards....cjf

Your engine will love it but a whole quart might be a bit much. That stuff ain't cheap. I'd start with 16oz first if you wanna give it a good dose. For long term care, I'd suggest that you premix your gas with 2-stroke oil on every fillup. I premix 16oz with every 16 gallons. Some say that's overkill but I think it's good insurance.

Marvel Mystery Oil makes a product that is a derivative of the original, and is designed specifically to clean your fuel system. I'm not sure how it differs from the original product (it even smells the same) but my guess is it may mix better with gas.

It was supposed to clean and lube superchargers and turbochargers... It works great at lubing the apex seals in our Rotary engines though, and it burns much cleaner than ATF and standard oil...
It also dissolves carbon deposits that hinder the movement of the apex seals.
(It also works great in air tools like Impact Wrenches and Die Grinders.)
It comes in a bright red bottle with a black label.
You can use it as an additive to your engine oil, and premix in your gas. Or just shoot it directly into the engine via the intake or the spark plug holes.
It also has a nice texture and a minty aftertaste that makes it go down smooth.

yeah the stuffs good, when i got a 85 seven i had changed the oil,and added a little to the fuel tank and a little in the engine itself...**** after a couple of miles of driving the engine ran so damn smooth..I checked the oil and it was black as hell(dissolved carbon) anyway i would recommend it!!Your exhaust will have a peppermint smell to it also!

Some Rookie Tenderfoot disin' MMO?
Hiya Buckaroo's, Rotary Cowboys, Cowgirls, and Wrench-hands........
First....A Great Big 'Ol Happy Holidays to y'all!!!!!
Been workin' way too hard....Been puttin' up an extension to my garage, and puttin' in lots of time at the Hand-tools/Automotive department at Sears.... Looks like Sears is gonna have to back off...There are more important things in life........Like my Three RX-7's, my little MG, and Saab Sonnet!!!! So I told the Bosses, I'm backin off on the hours........
Now, back to the good stuff. I'm finally done with the garage expansion. Only need to build the workbenches, and parts shelves, and put up the insulation, and install the overhead lights.
Results: Total Garage length...Fifty-six feet! Total width: twenty-four feet! Cement floor with drain, an outlet box every six feet, and a big 'ol 8inch I=beam from which to pull engines and such.....Man, I must confess.....I'm absolutely Whacko!
MMO? As my good Trail-Pardner, Pele, says "It's honey" to all rotary engines. Use the Search mode on your forum screen and use the word MMO, or Marvel Mystery Oil, and read my long essay on the subject.
No, it doesn't sink to the bottom, or stir up anything, or clog, gob, bloat, or sneak around at night in its jammies! It hasn't been changed since in invention. You don't need to use 16 full fluid onces in the tank, but it won't hurt your car if you do. Use it with confidence, and nad sagely and smile when some tenderfoot goes off on his confusion over MMO.
Love to y'all....Hope to be closer to the forum now that time is on my side....

my only problem with mmo is take a cup, pour in some mmo and add a rubber o-ring and see what it looks like the next morning. I run it in my fuel on occasion, but I do not put it in my oil because I have seen several "old" engines that started leaking oil after having had a good dose of mmo added to the oil. Take an old rubber seal and expose it to mmo and it is either going to pucker up and seal tighter than a nun's legs on Sunday or it is going to expand its cracked, rotten shreds out and finish self destructing.
