mallory ignition

Has anyone used a Mallory Hyfire box instead of msd 6a for a direct fire set-up? Their tech support did not know about rotaries. I might be getting one cheap but don't know if it is gonna work like an msd 6a unit which seems to be the ignition of choice.

Re: mallory ignition

You cans say that again, price is mostly the reason MSD is the ignition of choice. I use a Jacobs Rotary Energy Pack in my 82 GSL and I love it...it has a built in ignition disabler for secure mode just in case some one tries to steal the car that will only run for about two minutes.. I have heard of some people using the Mallory but not many...Again, is just a matter of choice. Just make sure you make those connections the right way or you will blow your ignition......
