Make my car fast

And yes, i am not giving up on the turbo project. I'm saving up for a setup from australia. I figure it would be cheaper to have them ship me a DIY kit than me to ship my car over there, pay for installation, and ship it back.
Either way its going to cost at least $4500. i gots a bit of saving to do :-p

If I was in your shoes, I would go to a track that gives an actual timeslip beofer you think somehting is not quite right with your car. Going by where you think the 1/4 end and then reading the mph off the speedo you are probably off on your estimate by a pretty good margin.

ok #1 best advice you will ever get when ****** with a car. only fix or "do" 1 thing at a time. then make sure it works the same if not better than before. then do the next thing...repeat till your done.
yes the temp sencer for the guage on the dash is under the oil filter base. and i know on a 12a (carbed) the sencer in the water neck by the thermostat does do the choke... if its unpluged the choke wont stay out. im not sure what the 1 in the rad. does.
What i would do is play with the timing. a friend here in ATL. had a 85-se at the dyno... did it with a exh and intake. the #'s i cant rember but were ok. then he removed the a/c and power stering belt... car has no air pump. it only gained like .2 hp from the less load of the 2 acc. then with the 1 belt on he jacked around with the timing... and got like 9hp at the best pull... this is over the car with it just running the alt. w.p. and e shaft belt. thats 9 FREE hp. so after u slap on a new cap and rotor check the timing. and i agree that parts store fuel injector/carb cleaning stuff is JUNK... i mean look at it its in a plastic bottle... PLEASE. id look at getting a 2nd set of injectors from ebay or thepartstrader and send them to rc enginereing and have them cleaned...hell they can ever make them larger. and its about 25-50 some thing like that.... WAY cheaper than new or reman. injectors. i paid 200$ for a set of remans from nopi a few years ago and i have a rotorhead buddie that works there so i get a good discount. also check your fuel psi... when was the last time you changed the fuel filter?

and yea turbo is the way to go i have my ecu on its way from down under....MicroTech GROUP BUY now its time to gather all the other ****...1200cc, 1600cc, rotor housings, pump, -se tank and x member from my parts car. The plates are ported and the fmic is sitting in the car. abouttime to start running the new lines and start blocking all the crap off on the intake. 300hp WONT be a prob. at all i figure with my setup 450 will be more like it but im not going for max im going for RELIABLE power.... and i want to walk fd's i forse traction issues.

Hell yes.
And yeah i know about doing one mod at a time, i do. The 6th ports have never worked. Bad vacumn leak . I think the actuators are dead or something.
Right now the timing seesm to be perfect (or so says my friend who checked it) We shall see come friday about that dizzy cap and rotor though.
