If interested, I have done a write-up with photos when I did mine swap last spring. Click on my signature graphic, below, if you are curious. It's Powerpoint (with photos) saved in a .jpg format so as to post it, page-by-page, on cardomain. I think it starts at page 4 on my cardomain.

That's a great DIY as well. I've got my work cut out for me to top that one. Great job!

Hey man, as far as the SS lines go, did you have to get Mazdatrix to mix and match one of their kits for your application? I just ordered some stuff from them today, with a special request for the lines. I've got an '83 GS and an 85 GSL rear waiting to go in. Since they only offer 2 difft. kits, one for 81-83 GSL's and another for all 84-85's (which mine is neither) I figured that maybe the fronts might be different threads or something?

Chasrx, how easy/ hard was it to put the RX8 seats in there and how much did you get them for? I'm drooling over those seats, and the rest of the car looks sweet, nice work!

Sorry for the jack!

Just straighten em out. I would like to think that the forum member didnt let it leave like this but during shipping this occured. Really you dont need them. Plus by removing them you can clean and repaint them and straighten them out.

I dont mean to Hi jack your thread legokcen but I just wanted to ask some general questions about transfering the GSL rear end. I have someone who will sell me the "pumpkin and axles" for $250 shipped. Is this a reasonable price and is that all I need? I am sure I will have to purchase a few odds and ends to finish up the axle but in general will I be able to throw that into my S model in a weekend if I have everything ready before hand? I tried searching for this topic yesterday and couldnt really find what I was looking for.

FYI I paid $100 for the entire rear end including brakes. The calipers need to be rebuilt and I'm getting new rotors and bearings, but I'm guessing that $250 is a little too much unless you don't have to put anything else into it. You should be able to knock it out in a weekend if you've got the tools. An extra hand would help too, that **** is heavy.
