Low Coolant Temp Gauge
Bill's RX-7 Restoration
My coolant temp gauge is barely getting into the bottom of the normal range. Changed the coolant level/temperature sensor at the top of the radiator and put in a new Mazda thermostat. No change. I've owned this car for almost 19 years and the temp gauge has always been right in the middle of the normal area. The last work done to the car before this started was a new alternator was installed. Any ideas on why the gauge is reading low? The oil temp gauge is reading normal.

I never knew there was a temp sensor at the bottom of the radiator and the engine. I have an '83 GSL with a 12A engine. Could you tell me which sensor is for the gauge and where t is located. I am in the middle of moving and my three RX-7 manuals are in storage with my household goods!

I cant really help you with your problem (dont kno much about the cooling system) but I just wanted to say that I really admire the love you must have for your car to have done such an involving restoration. The car looks beautiful and clean from the outside! And itll probably last forever with all the coats of paint and stuff you put on her
