Looking for suggestions for an '85 12a
Picked up a pristine 1985 rx 7 recently, with only 41k miles on it, no accidents, been in a garage forever. The previous owner did some work to it but it seems incomplete.
I'm looking to put in a new Carb, exhaust system, a wider body kit, and just about anything aftermarket that would be worth investing in. But I'm not entirely sure what to get or where to go. I've worked on cars before but nothing like this. Any suggestions?

buy it and swap me cars. That one sounds too nice to mess with :x mine on the other hand - would be much better to do stuff to.
Racing beat for exhaust, and they also sell suspension. black dragon auto has good parts too. Mariah motorsports for a body kit.

first of all, congratulations on scoring such a jewel.
my wish/suggestion is that you spend the coming months reviewing and restoring it. make sure everything works the way it should. money spent replacing worn out/rotted rubber parts (hoses, lines, bushings, etc.) is definitely money WELL SPENT. replace fluids and give it a complete tuneup.
as for replacing/upgrading parts, start with the exhaust - i see you're located partly in California, so i don't know how this will work with your laws. choose quality and function over price. personally, i wouldn't touch anything else for a good, long time. learn the car, learn the things that we do to them, and learn why.
aside from general maintenance (washing, waxing, etc.) i wouldn't touch the body.

I have put in a lot of work into it. Cleaned the fuel tank, replaced the fuel filter, ran seafoam through the system, new spark plugs/ plug wires, adjusted the timing, replaced the oil/coolant. Just looking at where to go from here...
Edit; I'm active duty military, I'm from ca but I haven't lived there in years haha
