I've got this direct fire set-up for over 5 yrs now. Starts quicker, burns better and no hesitation even above 9K - thats with my old engine which is now sitting in the RX-3. BTW: its a 6AL with no rev limiter chip, not 6A as I previously mentioned. Pricey but I purchased the box before the DLIDFS was discovered by Jeff.

wackyracer, I really like your idea for mounting the ignition box infront of the radiator to keep the engine bay clean. Most mount it in the engine bay and IMO it does not look nearly as good, good job!

anybody ever relocate the rats nest? I need it for emissions and was thinking about moving the solenoids to the firewall and run stainless lines to them for vacuum.

You know what would be great? If somebody had a pic of a stock engine bay, labelled all the **** with "This is a -----, it does -----, and it's ok/not ok to remove it." Half the hoses and canisters I don't even know what the hell they are for.

I've seen several 1G's with the battery relocated to the passenger storage bin. Now THAT would clean up your engine bay! Also help with weight distribution too. I'm planning to do it, but I'm waiting until I can afford an Optima and a battery box so I don't have to worry about the thing blowing up if I light a cigarette or something.

A labeled engine bay? Sounds like you should read up on your Hayne's manual and rats nest guides

with the wirings, label anything that you dont need. Using headers and modified carbs, all you you need is the water temp, oil pressure and alternator (for nikki, keep the sensor behind the water pump housing or u will have problem with the choke). then unclip the harness and for me, I actually pulled out the wires one at a time - thats including the pins. then wrap it with a wire loom to make it clean.

the rest, I just left them alone since this is still a street car.
