It Lives
It lives, I bought a '85 GSL for $400.00 from a mechanic at work who had given up on it after replacing the engine witha used engine and not being able to get it to rev up.
I asked on the forum and was told the cats were plugged I checked and they seemed ok but I remembered something about putting atf in a motor that hadn't been run in a while.
I plugged all the open vacuum lines and added about 100 ml of atf to the rotors and started it up.
While after the smoke cleared I had a fine running RX-7. The car hasn't been on the road in 7 years so once I rebuild the clutch cylinder it will be back on the road.
Not bad for $403.75.
Thanks guys.

Be prepared to rebuild the carb and clean/flush the entire fuel system. Have extra fuel filters on hand just in case. Same thing goes for hydraulics, brakes and clutch. They may work fine for a while but will soon fail. If the engine is good, even after replacing the above mentioned parts, you still got a good deal. After you've changed all the fluids, thermostat, full tune up, etc., add a can of Seafoam to the tank.
