Limited-slip rear end swap into '80 RX7
Howdy!
I have an opportunity to get a free 1st Gen. parts car with a good LSD. I'm wondering what is involved in swapping it into my '80 RX7. Do I also need to swap proportioning valves to make the rear disc brakes work properly? And is the actual bolt-up the same? I appreciate any advice. Thanks! -WG

nice sa you got there.
the simple answer is yes it will bolt up in most cases. i dunno about sa to fb rear end copmatability but im swapping an 85 gsl rear into my 85 gs today.
you need the rear end, the ebrake cables, your prop valve is fine, and of course hoses.
would be easy as pie if i could find more than one 21mm socket so i dont have to use a lug wrench....
you'll need 2 12mm for sway bar
2 14mm and 2 17mm's and 2 19's and 21's
all you need is the back section of the ebrake cable. pop out the little rubber grommet from the frame and slide it down the cable outta the way some. the rear ebrake cable you need is held in by a little cotter pin that disconnects it from the cable that runs to the ebrake handle inside. slide off the c clip and yank it out from the rear.
i know how to remove em pretty good, lets just see if i can put it in as easy as it came out when i wake up and have my bro help me position it. gonna post pics later if im not busy workin on my car now that i finally have a weekend off woooo hooooo

i always forget to logout. oh yeah impact wrench would be sweeeeet and make the job take no time but my air compressor is at a different garage so i had to breaker bar all of the biotches(and use a 4 way on the 21mm's cause i could only find one of the 4 21mm sockets i have around here). if my 155lbs sopping wet can do it anyone can.
