LED replacement panel for the REX
I have found an electrical engineer willing to design a set of replacement panels which will convert the normal REX taillights into HID LED taillights...i just need to find intrest.
so would anyone be intrested?
it would be a simple job requiring a screwdriver and 20 minues per side...

i would try and keep it low, i have seen other systems for other cars sell for $100us a side, but i would think that between $50-100 cdn a side would be fair, if i could produce it for that little

Hahah, this reminds me of an idea I had awhile back..
Replace the black centre section in between the lights with a LED scrolling display like this:
And when people tailgate me I could say a message like 'Back the **** off'
..or if someone let me merge in I could print out 'Thank you'

I would be interested in a headlight kit. There are a lot of variables in any of these 'offers' - looks, price, method, etc.
You would probably get more interest if you had a sketch or mock-up of your idea, a photoshop or even just drawing.
You will always have more people who want it once somebody else installs it.

I have a few mockups, but i am a very busy student and dont have time to waste on a flop...so i wanted to know if people would be intrested before me and the engineer spent our time and money on the project.
as far as money goes...i should have said "something around $100.00..."i dont want to get peoples hopes up... if the thing ends up costing me $98.00 i dont want people complaining that i sai between $50-100...so for now, expect something around there, but untill i do a little more work, im not saying anything on price

Do you have any idea how expensive LED's are and how many you'd need to make a tail light bright enough to be safe? I think $100 is extreamly low. I'd say you're probably looking at 200-300 LED's for the whole set, and that alone will be in the neighborhood of $150 in materials, plus labor, etc. Most high quality LED tail lights go fo $400-1000 a set. IMO any kit built for $100 cdn would be similar to the crappy light bulbs you swap out that are about 1/10th as bright as halogen bulbs.
With that said though, I'd be first in line with a check if you could come up with a high quality set for $100.

My electrical engineer is in the buisness...and owns an electronics company, so were thinking that we can probaly get some deals, furthermore, the G35 only uses abuot 20 LEDs at the back, and i think that car has one of the nicest looks going...so dont dismis it yet.
I wont make something cheap

Your first post in this thread mentioned HID LEDs and I was like, "huh? What?"
As long as they look good, and WORK well, it should turn out to be a good project. You don't need high intensity discharge for your tailights though. Leave that to the exhaust.
