Leading Not firing
My leading isnt fireing. Ive pulled the spark and there isnt any!
So far what i have done is change the WHOLE dizzy, change the coil, changed the Ignitor, changed the spark wire, changed the coil wire. the Cap. and still no spark
My trailing is firing, and it is running, but it idles at 1200rpm when cold, with choke out then drops to 800 and dies shortly after.
Tomorrow morning im going to change the ground wires, and clean them up...but im not to sure of what else to do.
Help Please!!!!

The only thing you have not mentioned checking are the wires from the ignitor to the coil. If it was a grounding issue, I would think that neither the trailing or leading would be working. It still sounds like an ignitor issue. Something that really helped me when trouble shooting the ignition system was to make a mock setup on the bench using a spare coil, 1 plug wire, plug, dizzy and a battery charger as my power source. I did have to fabricate some wires from the ignitor to the coil but no biggy. It was actually a little crude and done on my kitchen countertop so don't think it's something very technical. I decided to do this on the advice of Jeff20b inorder to really test an ignitor. Once the setup was working, I amused myself for an hour watching the plug zap away with a little turn of the dizzy. After the novelty wore off, I realized how simple the system is. Jeff is a little more qualified to explain in detail about the setup so I will give him the chance.
Now I know this doesn't address your problem directly, but if you can get it working on the bench the rest of your problems shoud be gravy.

CHeck coils with a multimeter with the key in the "on" position, you should have 12v with the motor off.
Next do an actual test on the ignitors as instructed in the Haynes Manual. If that checks out. Check the wiring on the coils, any bad connection will be enough for it not to start.
Next inspect inside the Distributor Cap, check out the rotor..... Also pull the rotor out and remove that dust cover and inspect the pickup coils.... They wear out and you'll see 2 pairs of wires heading to them. Mine were worn down flush!!!
This is assuming your wires are good, check for spark at the plugs and at the distributor to make sure that the wires are not the problem. Check the coils to make sure the wire are attach properly.
Good luck! Pm me if you need extra help
