Latest member of the family!

So here I am, back in the 12a game!

Here it is, an '85 GS!

The car is in prety good shape aside from a few small things such as the door panels, bits of rust, and the awful purple over red paintjob.
Its in prime mechanical shape, with only a touch over 138 000 kms.
It also came with a prety decent grey/black interior, up until now Ive just had the maroon style, and I must say I like the feel of the grey!!!!!!!

Came with a brand new sony deck....and the best part... only ran me $500.00 Canadian!!!!!!!

Im so excited to have a 12a car again! I know it definately needs a bit of work and definately some new paint, but Im up for the challange! I need something to work on since the prestine -SE hasnt been keeping me very busy .

Ill post some more pictures once I yank off the ugly bra, and give it a bath!
And Ill be sure to keep everyone up to speed on my plans, hopefully it will end up as nice as I imagine.

Just had to let everyone know Im back at it. So stoked to have a 12a project once again!

Thanks, I thought the paint was much more terrible than it actually is. I was so excited I decided to head out into the night to pull of the bra and give it a little wash.

Turns out, whoever painted it obviously skimped, putting on a basecoat and just skipping the clear. As soon as the water hit it, it gleamed with beauty. The flake in the paint is actually awesome. As long as I can get some custom matched paint, Im keeping it, touching up some areas and clearing the whole car.
I wish it was the daytime so I could get a better picture, but its actually prety nice.
Love the surprises!

Again sorry about the darkness, good pictures to follow!

I don't mind that color at all. If there is enough clearcoat left to lightly wet sand, you might be able to shoot fresh clear on it and really give the color and flake some depth. I have a mint pair of gray door panels, they were redone at sometime. If you're interested, PM me, they won't be cheap, but it looks like next month I will be making a trip to the GTA of Canada and could bring them with me.

Thanks Trochoid, but Ive already started to gather the goods to finish the door panels myself. Im just gonna re-pad the top part that let go, and wrap it in some fresh black leather. I do appreciate the offer though.

As for the paint, I really dont mind it myself either, but it was done very poorly. Inside the doors, and around the trim on the body the purple is flaking off revealing the red paint below...as well as the red engine bay .
I would consider touching it all up but the local rondex can only match the paint color...not the flake, which is actually quite nice. Depending on the light you can see red/blue flake, and apparently its not a common or easy paint to match. Oh well.

Well, every day she gets a little better.
I think all I want to do now is put on the whaletail, and at some point paint the car my personal favorite first gen color: K3- sunbeam silver!
