Killing batteries left and right

Hey I did a dry cell convertion, and used 4 gauge wire from the pos. post to the starter, and grounded the neg. post to the passenger side seat belt mount. It worked good for 2 weeks and then it just lost all power and wouldn't turn the starter. Could there be a bad ground? A consinate draw on the system? Or what? I'm stumped.

Let me guess, you didnt run a ground from the motor to the frame? It wont work really well w/o one

Run thick 4 awg from a good solid bolt on the motor to the frame
