Kia sportage rear end into SE?
I did a search on this topic because i know it's been discussed before, but i couldn't come up with much, supposedly this rear end will fit into a miata, and a miata rear end will fit into an FB. So the sportage rear end should fit into an FB, does anyone know for a fact that it will? any information given about this will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

"some" miata pumpkins can be swapped with "some" Rx7 pumpikns...
and "some" Kia sportage diffs are swappable with "some" miata diffs, along with "some" mazda truck diffs...
it's a bit more complicated than you think...

The whole rearend consists of housing, pumpkin, and axels.
From what I understood from the website, may of the switches are ring and pinion gears only into you current unit, or one that you will be installing.
Also, as a side note. ring and pinion gears are made in sets and are ground to work as a set. You should not swap one without the matching other.

If I recall correctly it is only the Crownwheel and pinion from the Kia diff that is swapped over to get the lower geared rear end. (and no one has tired it and reported back yet)

and from my understanding some miata pumpkins are swappable, but there is a couple mm fewer of spline engagement (and only on 84 up?)
As for the Kia & mazda pickup difs, I'm was under the enderstanding it was just the ring & pinion that you could use to get a lower ratio...
something about some the 4wd B2200's have 5.12 fronts? or was it 4.88... Hel a year ago I knew all of this stuff
