Keep the rear wiper or not?
With my new sub enclosure coming in, the rear wiper box is going to be in the way.
This raises the question as to weather i should get a wiperless rear hatch or keep the wiper
What ddoes y'all think?

In my opinion, get rid of it.... espically if you don't drive in snow. I got rid of mine because it didn't work, but it sure did save some weight. You can just plug the holes with some caps from a wiperless hatch window.

Is there anyway to just remove the wiper on our hatches and plug the hole somehow where it goes through? I already have my hatch tinted and don't really want to get a different one.

Geoff, let me know if you want to try a plug. I'm gonna go to University Mazda and get one for myself, because I'd like to try one. They're probably only $5 or so. If they're black it would be a clean look, esp since they are low in the window.

i didnt know plugs were available...All the cars I saw withoug wipers just had a slolid glass hatch with no wiper hole. Also, I noticed at the parts store yesterday you can get add on rear window defroster kits. I think you might be able to make it fix a broken stock one though...

Just remove the assembly and plug the hole. If you can't get the Mazda plug, there are eleventy-dozen different plastic and rubber plugs on the market. Get the one that fits best, put a thin layer of clear silcone sealant between the plug and glass. Voila...!
