Just toying with my car...

I put in a solid 10 hour day in the ol' garage today. I'm anxiously awaiting a new EMS so my car is getting "prepped". Aside from ripping out every last emission related item and porting the intake manifold, I did something that I think is really cool.

After installing and tightening my e-brake to the desired amount (very tight), I had a rally-inspired idea. You know how their e-brake is right next to the shifter (in the dash) and every now and then they just give it a quick tug and it snaps back right away? Well I figured I deserve that luxury also since I like to pull e-brakes while turning. Quite simply, I pushed in the little button and drilled a small hole in it (using the existing hole in the steel). I don't have any interior so this is possible. Then I threw a small screw in there to hold the button in. Now, I can give her a little tug and it'll drop down automatically. Then, if I want to park, I just yank that screw out and I'm golden.

Just thought I'd share

coolness. now all you need to do is wire a switch into it so that you donot have to deal with the screw yourself

duct tape and bailin' wire would've been much easier... but you'd have to re-apply every time you park.... hmm....

As soon as I get a digital camera, I'm going to flood this area with pics, since I haven't posted one since I started this damn project in March. Maybe this weekend...
