I just got my brother to buy a very nice condition 84 GSL. It's pretty close to mint and only has 54k miles on it. He's registered here on the forums somewhere.

I'm pissed cuz his is a hell of alot nicer. Ah well..I paid $500 for mine..he paid $3k. heh

its in pretty good condition. there is one dent on the passenger front bumper and a small tear on the passenger seat. the tranny seems a little stiff and its sometimes hard to shift to 1st or reverse from stop. im not sure what model it is(hell, it was free, i wasnt about to start asking questions ). all i know is it has a 12a, power mirrors only, and rear drum brakes. as you can tell, im pretty new to rx7s and dont know much about them, so i would appreciate any advice from you guys.

can anybody tell me if there is a warm up or cool down period for the sa22? if there is, how long is it?

o yea, ill try to post pics as soon as i can.

u should always try to warm it up..
in the mornings its usally frosty outside so i try and give it about 5 mins. during the day when its warmer i only give it 1-2 mins..

and warming down, just take it easy the last few k's and it should be alright. other wise give it a minute.

some people will say dont drive it untill it is at operating temp.. but were all bussy people these days so thats not gonna happen..

If it doesn't need the choke then so be it. If it stumbles alot when cold, then the choke won't hurt. I bet in that in CA its not really needed, especially in the summer.

If you can't wait to let it warm up fully, then drive it but shift under 3,000 to be safe.

I'd suggest replacing the tranny fluid with some nice synthetic oil from RedLine or Royal Purple. I used Redline MT-90 and noticed an immediate improvement that has gotten better over time.

Good luck with the car!

Welcome . Keep an eye on the oil level and water, once or twice a week. it's preventive maintance and could mean the life or death of your rotory powered ,
unique , fun , car.
