Talking Just bought MMO, will this help me pass Emissions?

Yes! I did it! I bought MMO for the first time ever. I don't have carbon lock, but I know without a doubt that my car could use a carbon cleaning. Now I have already read the faq about unlocking your engine, but I just want to take the carbon out. Instead of taking apart the engine and whatnot...can I add MMO straight into my carb. Like lierally dump the bottle into the carb? Or should I put into a windex bottle and spray it into the carb?

Will this take out enough carbon to help me pass the smog check? I live in la area of Ca, so It wom't be easy...

Thanks in advance to all helpers...

I don't think it'll make a difference on a smog test but it might help your car run better.

If I were you I'd just put it in your gas tank, and maybe replace a quart of oil with it, drive around for a week or so and then change your oil.

But I thought carbon was the main ingrediant that screws us over when trying for our emissions....

I think hydro carbons (or whatever) that the exhaust puts out, are a different entity than the carbon that builds up inside the engine..........I could be wrong.

I'm no authority on this issue as I have never had to worry about emissions. But I can't recall anybody using mmo when they are trying to pass a test.

Somebody should be along shortly to give you a better answer............

smog

It's not like a piston motor where you get carbon on the valves and start misfiring
which causing the hc's to go up. Getting rid of the carbon helps keep the compression up. Quikest way is to take plugs out and squirt in chamber, crank over alittle bit and let sit overnight. Main contributing factors on failing smog. 1).
dirty air filter. 2). contaminated oil from too long intervals in between servicing.
3). worn out plugs, use ngk only. 4). bad ignition wires or cap and rotor.
5). Too much crap in carb, find shop around there that carry's product called BG's
44k. usually find it at dealerships or good service garages. Best on the market there is. Cost around $23.00 a can. Get the tank down to about 1/2 tank or less and put in. There is also a product that is made by crc callled guranteed to pass
that you put in your gas tank also. Also check the operation of the cat's by taking it to a local muffler shop, they should test the before and after temp's, should be much hotter on outlet side. The deacceleration system must be working properly to, meaning it's shutting off fuel to the rear housing dueing deacceleration.
Lastly, after you make sure all these things have been done and checked, take it
to a smog station that will do a pretest. this is incase it turns out to be a gross poluter it will not be transmitted to and you will not have to deal with all the hassle
afterwards. Last tip, before you schedule it in, drive it for about a half hour or so
and schedule it so your test is right when you get there and dont shut off the
motor, you want the cat to be hot as can be. good luck, rx7doctor

Daaaaaaamn. Hence the name says it all! Thank you doctor!

Um...hmm...I saw that stuff at Pepboys today. The crc guaranteed to pass stuff. Should I do ALL of these? LIke...the crc, the MMO, AND the Bg 44k? I don't have my car registered yet...so should I go to the DMV and get a red driving sticker temporarily to get this done? Thanks a lot again, rx7doctor.

Talking All or nothing

Yes, do it all, the bg will completley clean out the fuel system, the mmo is going to clean up the internals, better compression better firing. the crc stuff masks the
true hc with a special chemical. Also run 5w30 oil, lighter weight oil lowers emissions. But remember go thru it with a fine tooth comb, all the things i mentioned need to be in tip top operation. Also make sure their are no vacuum leaks anywhere. Good luck, rx7doctor

A vacuum leak is pretty straightforward: There's a leak in the vacuum system. All those godforsaken hoses that you disconnect/break/take off whenever you do anything in the engine bay... those are vacuum hoses. Happy trails, Chris.

And lastly, find someone with a smog hook-up. You dont wanna be marked as a gross polluter if it fail the test
