mkae it a mist like coat...almost like a guide coat then go at with regualr 50 percent over lap. Your saving alot of money buy using that black sealer. U don't need as much paint to build up ur color.

Sounds good then i will mist the first coat wait 15 minutes then go at it like a normal first coat. So for this mist like coat should i hold the gun farther away than the normal 8 inches?

yeah u can do that or reduce the pressure or widen the spray pattern. 8 inches?i think more like 10-12 but what u like is good. I like to play with the gun sometimes. What pressure are u using at the regulator?

yeah i mixed it 2:1:.5 like it says let is sit for 15 minutes to catalyze and sprayed that **** on oh well. i can always just prime over top of it lol made a nice smooth finish anyway! But it rained last night and left watermarks all over the epoxy!

yeah we use that on our cars if we're gonna let them sit over for a long *** times. I like that look lol. I know it clumps up and make a mess but i never had a hard time sanding it. Of course i use 80 or 120 to block it for lows and highs then u i use a regualr sealer. Thats an odd mixing ratio i guess becuase it can be used for many things.

I have decided to stop dead in my tracks. I have thought about it and it might be a good idea to lay a primer on the rest of the car and then shoot epoxy sealer over the top to create a super smooth finish! Then prime over the top of that! I do not want this car to rust anymore and this is probably a extra step and very time consuming but well worth it in the end!

remove door panel and there should be two nuts holding them in on the very top inside the door beams. Very hard to get into becuase its a a tight spot. I think 10 or 12 mm bolts. Wear gloves orsomething becuase u will get cut up.

there not like the sa ones where they un screw from the mirror than there is screws in the pedestal! Also i found out that epoxy does sand i brushed into a patch with some 150 and it does come off. leaves god awfull marks though probally cause of the 150 lol. but it does sand. Just take a long time to cure i guess!

if u want it to be vibrant as possible than lay 3 coats of base then block it with like 1400 grit then lay abother 2-3 coats then 4 coats of clear then wet sand that and another 3 coats of clear. alot of work and money but damn it will come out like glass and pop like crazy.
wow....i have never painted that much on any vehicle.....thats way to many mils of refinish material to last very long on a vehicle....unless it stays in subtle conditions of temperature without alot of constant changing, i would fear it cracking.....guess its up to how crazy you want to get

yeah its tricky and too much many coats will crack after the typical dd conditions but the trick is to sand it to the very first coat or 2nd coat. Its mostly used on show cars or garage queens. I tested it out on one side of my car and it came out beautifully glassy and never cracked or shipped except one places becuase someone hit me with their door.

Well its almost done i will shoot it with the epoxy primer/sealer this week and rock the flat black for a week or so. Then i will either scuff it or shoot a thin layer of primer over the top and its paint time! This paint job does not have to last more than like 2 years i will find another car buy then!

82, 83, 88, 82 RX-7again!
Don't forget to get a good mask (at least charcoal, positive air breathing is better) and the body suit (20$) to collect your body dust and hair and keep it out of the paint. I also used a $15 face shield in addition that really helped me as that polyurethane is nasty stuff and really bothered my eyes without it.
Good luck
