Items/Ideas for SA/FB Owners?

hey all. first off let me say that if a "gauging interest" thread requires formal arrangements with the administration i'll go ahead and do so without hesitation. no desire to step on anyone's toes here.

i've been a vendor for mazda performance parts for a few years now (protegegarage.com / mazda3online.com) and i've catered mostly to the new stuff out there. i myself am an SA/FB fan and am wondering about maybe producing some parts for these cars. i have a junk one sitting here i could test fit parts to and was curious what people are looking for. strut bars? i was talking with a local place about carbon fiber hoods and they're open to it but there would have to be ten orders etc.

just a thought, testing the waters to see what is or is not wanted/needed. like i said, moderators, if this is overstepping my bounds in any way please let me know and i will go through whatever channels are proper and required.

Captain, since you are not offering product then I will allow you to test the waters to see what the members are interested in.
The only stipulation is that you cannot offer any product or pricing, just gather information.
After that point if you decide that you want to offer product then you will need to contact the appropriate department which I will provide to you.

Thank you for being professional and asking for permission.

I have always wanted someone to develop a 1 piece fiberglass flip front end. The same style as what they started putting on the 84-90's Corvettes. :-)

I've got a few that would be awesome to see produced specifically for our cars:

1. fender flares, abs/fiberglass whatever you want to do would be awesome.
2. strut bars/braces are always welcome, if you want to delve deeper- anti-roll bars?
3. wanna make some sweet wheels for the 1st gens out there haha...only kidding...sort of.......deep dish anyone?

yep just throwing somethin out there- all this studying makes me want a great big ol cole bur. wait already done that....back to studying...wretched.

Flush headlights are definitely #1. I would love to see a trimless front bumper cover. If you want to do a hood, please do a VENTED hood. I know alot of members have been waiting on one from FIBERMAZ, myself included. BAsically anything you want that isn't outrageously expensive LOL

Fender Flares

Efficient lightweight front airdam

Rear bumper cover, air dam that incorporates exhaust outlets

Thumbs down recessed headlight = ricey.

I prefer the original design and would rather spend $$$ on performance and suspension. In other words, how to make a FB perform and handle like the newer cars should be the topic.

I guess i'm one of the few who likes the stock popup lights... Although being able to put HID projectors in there would be cool, anyway you do that

I also would love to see a different front bumber skin since I stripped off the moulding strips on the side of my car. this would finish the look!

+10 on recessed headlights and/or flip up HID's.....

I personally don't need them, since I already built new seat perches, but I would think there would be interest in seat-rail adapters or a line of racing seats with rails that work... people having trouble with that all the time.

I would personally consider a Fiberglass dash option if it wasn't too expensive.

MODs... can he discuss approximate pricing? because I believe that would be relevant information...

That's another thing...

ADJUSTABLE REAR SUSPENSION!

Finding 5" diameter coilovers are next to impossible since ISC racing stopped making them.

Another thing would be shorter shocks so that you could lower the car more without bottoming out the shocks and breaking them when you hit a bump. But that would be pretty extreme and most likely expensive.

Another well priced IDA style, 4 injector throttle body setup would be excellent too.

And an Idea that I was thinking of the other day, a modified header panel (between the headlights) with a recessed auxiliary light set behind a lexan cover. My idea was to take out the reinforcements and cut a large square hole in the center, almost the whole panel, and make a recessed bucket to mount 4, round high intensity lights (I was just going to use 4 Marchal 5 3/4 inch bulbs). Then put a lexan cover over the whole assembly.

Well here's a few ideas I think would be interesting...

-Double lamps (Something I saw on a guy's old stingray, looks a little Lazy Eyed, but also looks like you could easily mount HIDs in there... Haven't seen this for our cars...)

-Custom tail lights and tail panels (I can never find any good ideas for these or even people that make them. Though I know Trochoid was working on one...)

-Strut bars (Definently a must, hard to find them these days without looking for used or fabbing your own)

-CF/FB Steering Wheel Housing (I don't know how many of you are tired of them breaking and not being able to find a replacement... or at least a cooler looking one...)

-A kit to make the rear bumper flush (I saw someone on this fourm have that and I still can't figure out how he did it! )

If I think of anything else, I will add...

That looks like a ferarri.
As for bumper stuff, +1 on the skins without the trim and getting shorter bumper shocks so that if we wanted to pull them in an inch or two they would still function properly.

Re-speed sells rear springs and adjusters, they aren't on the website yet, but pm billy about them. RE-speed also makes strut bars.....

You guys need to check out what this thread is about, the guy is a fiberglass/carbon fiber manufacturer, not a engine parts or suspension thread.

+1 on the seats though
