Intake gasket

Which side goes on the "keg"? There's a smooth side and a rough side on the intake gasket (for an 85, carb'd). Also, I don't have any hylomar--would aquarium RTV work (I'm gonna guess no)? I was planning to just put a lil of that aquarium RTV on the o-rings to keep em in place when i put the manifold back on--will that hurt anything?

???????? Its a paper gasket, doesnt matter which side goes in. The RTV wont hurt anything, just dont over do it.

The gasket and o-ring does not need any RTV, if worried about the O-rings, a little p-jelly will hold them in place.

I just put on another stock intake manifold and carburetor on my street '83 Rx-7.
Had it off the street for a year, DMV pissed me off, but now I am ready to pass SMOG and then bring it back into the garage and pull it all back off.

No RTV for me. I'm aware of the smooth side and rough side of the gasket. If you really want to get technical, the smooth side is supposed to go toward the engine, according to Mazda. I bet you'll ask how I know this.
