insurance
Thinking of buying a 1985 s RX-7 with only 2000 original miles on it. Seller wants $15,000, I will offer less. My question: Where can I get insurance for $10.000 up for this year car. It is not in the "Gold" Book.??Thanks Trebor.

I ended up paying over "blue book" for my car. To get a loan for it I had to have the car appraised. My insurance company would only insure it for "fair market value". If I ever get in an accident, I'm going to try and use that appraisal to prove it's value. That's about the only option I have.
If you're over 25, you might be able to get classic car insurance. There are usually a few restrictions: You must have another car, keep this car in a locked garage, etc, but you can insure the car for whatever dollar value you choose.
Gieco had a branch that offered this type of insurance, but I didn't qualify

with 2000 original miles, you'd better hope that that car got driven every couple months, otherwise all that sitting will have dried out oil control o-rings, water seals, belts, hoses... and pretty much anything else rubber on the car...
