Front to rear exhaust systems
Guys just a note, ERC (Elite Racing Corporation) of Japan, still sells a complete stainless steel exhasut front to rear for the SA/FB bodies. it comes with a presilencer in the cat location, and sounds great (little expensive though) it runs around 80,000 yen for the complete front to rear. its pipes are 75 mm after the turbine for the 12at version, and 65 mm after the header for the 12A NA version,
The system is great except for the header, its kinda restrictive I think, but the rest is great.

Edit.
I found two sound files for that muffler on the hemi.

That's at idle with the Powerstick.
This might be useful for you too.

NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER BUY A LOUVERED CORE MUFFLER OR PRESILENCER!!!! I can't stress this enough. The louvers create huge amounts of turulance. Some have tested to show that the turbulance causes such huge amounts of back pressure its easier for the engine to pust through 1/16" of steel.

ok, im going to the muffler shop tom. do have my exahaust done, im going to have him weld my free flow cat to a single straight pipe from my headers to the RB muffler (just to clean it up basically cause i have like a puzzle made exhaust system that im think really interrupts the pulses of the exhaust........But, im also going to ask him to open up my muffler to modify the insides, or at least the middle section pictured on the first page..............

HERE ARE MY IDEAS
# 1 IS OBVIOUS
# 2 will hopefully allow the exhaust gases to bounce around less and exit quicker than the original......i messed up on drawing # 2, the pipe entering the back of the should be shorter, ending where i drew it all dark blue
these ideas are figuring that the muffler is divided into three chambers like said earlier in the thread
come up with ideas and post em, i go tom. night to have it done

I figured as much. I just can't seem to find a 2" ID muffler from them that is straight through on their website. I will keep looking though.

Has magnaflow presilencer options.
I JUST bought and installed to of the the 22"body magnapacks as presilencers on my REPU, and although magnaflow advertises they weld every seam, they did not weld the seam on one end of each muffler. I Did not see that until car started making more noise after backfire. Sure enough, the seam is splitting at the end of the muffler, on the rearward facing end.
Cost me $10 to have 80% of that seam's circumference welded. Could not weld entire circumference because muffler hanger is in the way. Sure enough, it is splitting very slightly in the 20% unwelded area. So tonite I have to cram some Permatex 2000*F high temp sealant in there and see how long it holds. $8.99/ tube. IF that don't work I found some 3000*F ceramic sealant for fireplaces and exhaust ducts that should.
ALL that said, they did a good job of quieting the truck. After a few *miles* of driving it did start to get louder but peaked after a day and has not gotten worse. Deep mellow sound. IT is MUCH quieter than the 40" long glasspacks that were on there.
If you need a collector, magnaflow makes nice ones that are compact and aluminized to boot.

I see the issue with this, the muffler is missing its bearings. I replaced mine last week.
Look into getting some new ones. Racing Beat puts a nice set in, but I called a friend in Japan and got a JSPEC set!

Stay awy from the pace setter. They are no good. They don't flow too well, fit poorly, and they rust fast. Pick up a used RB header (or Mindtrain) and then figure out the rest of the exhaust from there.
John: Hope those JDM muffler bearing are working well for you. +15 HP, right?

Mindtrain is comparable quality to RB. Some people like Mindtrain better. I thought you could buy Mindtrain parts from www.kickyride.com, but I don't see them listed any more. Any one know of another distributor? Perhaps search the forum and the web for pics and more info. I don't know that much about them, except for them being a quality exhaust for our cars.

ISC racing makes a nice exhaust system. I'm going to be buying their components and then making them work with my Rotary Engineering header.

Mindtrain went the way of the Dodo. No longer in business. My best friend has a full Mindtrain system on his 1st gen. That thing is solid rust. It only took a few years for it to rust all the way through in spots. His system is nothing more than random patch jobs.
I have an old Pacesetter header. The Pacesetter headers aren't equal length that's for sure but it is a HUGE improvement over the stock exhaust manifold. Definitely noticable. Not just slightly. Even an inaccurate butt dyno would have no problem telling a power difference. Is it the best thing out there? Definitely not but it works quite nicely for what it is. The Racing Beat header is a quality piece. I used to have one of those on an older car. While it too is not equal length, it is very close. Both the Pacesetter and RB headers have outlasted the Mindtrain in the rust department and since you'll have to find a used one somewhere, don't bother.
I also think it's funny that someone doesn't want an RB muffler because they don't want to jump on the bandwagon but instead want to jump on the Magnaflow bandwagon. They are both good mufflers and no one can prove one makes more power than the other. At least not in this case. The RB mufflers are quite nice, flow well, and quiet really good. Magnaflow are also quality mufflers. Can't say anything bad about them. They do have the advantage of being cheaper. Use either one but don't think that you're not on a bandwagon just because you aren't using an RB.
