Info needed on recent Weber purchase
I just picked up a set of Weber carbs and Rotary engineering manifold (for a 12a) from a forum member and I'm looking for some info. Most of what I've found in my searching pertains to the 2 barrel setups, this one is a dual 2 barrel setup. This is my first leap into the world of aftermarket carbs, so excuse my ignorance, I'm just wondering what exactly it is I've just purchased lol. I attached a few pics so you guys can see what I'm talking about.
Also, I took the air filters off, looks real clean in there, and all the linkages work smoothly but there don't seem to be any choke butterflys, yet there is cable coming from each carb to that round silver thing, is it some kind of high idle thing to warm it up or what?
Sorry again for the dumb questions, just trying to learn all I can about these things before I actually put them on the car to see if they work or not.
Thanks
Sean

Looks like a fast idle system. Connect it to the choke cable and it should act just like a choke by raising idle when pulling the **** minus the fuel mixture. Webers are pretty cold blooded with start ups sometimes with my experiences so you may want to utilize this system. Just make sure you spray the manifold out with carb cleaner and spray the carbs inside and out with carb cleaner. Including the jets. Remove them and spray them. You don't want to risk debris shooting into your engine.
I would also recommend ditching that plastic fuel line coupler and replacing it with a metal piece.

There is no choke butterflies. The "choke" basically opens up another fuel circuit inside the carb making the idle mixture richer like a choke does. I've had this setup for alittle over a year and loved it. But alas I am turbo swapping so they have to go. They look awesome too. :P
Unscrew the silver tube and hook your choke cable to it. You'll understand when you get it open. There is no vacuum advance for this setup either. I just advanced the dizzy about 5* and let the counterweights inside take care of the rest.
Oh, and it's Weber 36 DCD is the carb name.

And you need 4-5psi of fuel pressure.....It'll run off of stock pressure but not as good in the higher revs.
This is the only book that I could find that has anything to say about these carbs. http://www.amazon.com/Weber-Zenith-S...8834125&sr=8-2
