IMSA/GTU Manufacturers Championship Stickers
I have noticed that alot of 85 Rx7s have this sticker in the left rear quarter window. I was just wondering who else has them and were they dealer installed or owner installed?
Thanks,
Later,
Bill

Ive only seen them on 1981-1985 cars. They were factory installed,I believe on every car that came off the line. Most have deteriorated or been scraped off for inside window tint jobs.
I wish to hell someone would reproduce them,Id love to get a couple 85 versions just for the bragging rights.Seems like it wouldnt be hard to scan and print them with a decent vinyl/ink printer (or somn' like that)

Yeah man. This is called the unicorn sticker. EVERYBODY wants a few for their car. The only ones I can find are from a mate in Austria from letzgo rotary . Guys name is Steve --cool dude. If ur on Facebook check him out. He gave me 2 1985's stickers for my 1982 fb- their not the correct size but I proudly sport it anyway. If ur not a perfectionist look him up. I may even still have his contacts somewhere. He sells all kinds of cool rotory stuff and drives a bad ars rotory himself. Btw-- the boys down under take cars serious.

FYI - the stickers listed Mazda's Manufacturer's Championship wins all the way from 1980 through 1987. They were installed in at least a couple of different spots on the glass from 1981 model year all the way through at least 1988. I still have an original sticker on the rear hatch glass of my 1988 fc that lists all 8 consecutive wins through 1987.
"The Mazda RX-7 has won more IMSA races in its class than any other model of automobile, with its hundredth victory on September 2, 1990. Following that, the RX-7 won its class in the IMSA 24 Hours of Daytona race ten years in a row, starting in 1982. The RX-7 won the IMSA Grand Touring Under Two Liter (GTU) championship each year from 1980 through 1987, inclusive."
You young guys can trust me that this is all true. I personally attended several of those IMSA races and have been cheering on the rotaries since the early 80's.
If anyone wants to see what an original of the last sticker looked like just let me know and I'll post a pic of mine.
