I had a FE block in my 66 f100 pickup it's a 352, but now it's a 390. Totally awesome setup. wish I hadn't traded that truck to dad for the 4runner.

If you can't do the fiberglass right a blower is way way out of your league. He may do it for you, but when you break down in podunk kansas at 3am who's gonna fix it for you when you don't know how?

What an angry thread... if you guys are really that pissed off, why not just give him the silent treatment? Or you can bitch him out and call him out on his skills, either way!

Oh, by the way, good luck with whatever you decide to do, whenever you decide to do it.

I was actually going to get started on this today, but the kid giving me payments for my Camaro didn't show. I can't really complain though, i still have the car until the final payment is given.

It's an '84 Fleetwood. Horrible car to drive, 135hp in a ~5,000lb car is redicules.

So what you are saying is, is that the RX-7 is a pile of **** whose only value is that it is rotary engined. Nice. Why don't you just get a half-running 10A and throw it into some heinous automobile, let's see, today's automobile of the day is Plymouth Fire Arrow. It'll suck to drive and look ugly as all hell and go 0 to 50 in two hours but it's a rotary powered car and that is all that matters right?

Ignorant about V8s? Hell most people here are ignorant about *rotaries* as well.

I KNEW someone would say that. A Cosmo IS NOT, a sportscar.

And besides, you know what I meant. No need to mask it in sarcasm.

Even a big 390 in mine is slow, but it pulls the car well enough, needs a rebuild, but the 7 is taking up all of my time now, itll have to wait until i get the 7 all fixed up.

People, people, people.

This is not anyone's specific forum. This is the Rx7 forum.

For 1, he's 18. Everyone at 18 gets crazy ideas. His ideas are possible.....relax.

For 2, he's not a millionaire. You know how many people I meet with crazy engine swapped cars who say "Oh, I don't know anything about cars. My friend did all the work" or..."I bought it this way."

The Rx7 is not a Ferrari. You can buy one for less than $1,000...so to do an engine swap is not blasphemy. Although this is Rx7club....its not RotaryEngineClub. Had this be RotaryEngineClub....I could see people saying "WTF...you're in the wrong place buddy."

There are quite a few people from my count on the forum with 302 and 350 swaps. Some people are either better with piston engines, or have greater access to a V8 than another rotary.

I myself know more now about a rotary than I do a piston engine....so instead of modifying the now 2000cc engine in my MGB, I'm gonna drop in a rotary.

Its all in fun, which is what I think this forum is meant to be for.

You never know.....he might stumble across something which makes the swap easier, or makes the vert change easier.

There's some guy in town who bought a 3rd gen and is doing some V8 swap into that. Somehow I think everyone would find that swap "acceptable," which is ironic.

Anyway 0123456789, don't mind them. Keep gatherin your info, and good luck with the swap.

Thank you Cody. The vert thing definately isn't going to happen now with a V-8 though, that would be way too dangerous. I was going to use the car for a "fun" weekend car to drive around town without a roof, then i started reading a little about V-8 swaps and had some friends talk me into it.
