I'm Back!! This time with a RHD 78

It's been 8 years since my last rx7, and now I'm back for some more pain and suffering lol. I've been looking around for a 1st gen for that last few weeks, and I finally found something that seemed rare. I had my friend go Inspect the car for rust up and down and everything seemed ok. I should have her here in Miami by the end of next week.

I'm not sure if to go with 15" or 16" wheels. I like those Enkei Apache 2's. Maybe next year I'll add some ITB's and a Microtech.

Interesting it's running on SE wheels, so something has been updated already to allow the use of the different wheel bolt pattern.

now THAT is cool! the SE setup is nice an all, and it gives you wheel options, but personally my vote would be Waffles .... a bit boring, i know, but that's where my head is.

i remember your old car fondly. if i recall, you had gotten an IS300, right? do you still have it?

I would of liked for the car to be completelystock myself, but it would cost way to much money to try and restore it now. I'll probably just add some nice wheels, springs and maybe the fender mounted mirrorrs. I'll figure out what to do with the engine setup once this one grenades

After the IS300 I had a 91 Miata turbo

Then a 97 MB SL320

and next week I'll have a 99 LS400 with 62k miles as my daily.

8 years...wow, I am getting old, haha.

Glad to see your back in the game, and with such a nice candidate too!

Got a quick spec sheet on your old Miata? Why did you get rid of it?

Hey fellas, I think I found a nice set of wheels for the 7.

http://www.enkei.com/apache2.shtml

FR 15X7 +38
RR 15x8 +25

Will I run into fitment issues with this setup, or should I run 15x7 +38 all around?

Remember its an SA with SE suspension.

Thanks

Haven't messed around with stock specs in a while, so I can't help you out, but IIRC, unless something odd was done, SA + SE suspension = SE specs.

I think my rear wheels are 16x8 +25. They're on SE length axles and are very close to the rear fenders, even rolled. Rubbed on some 255/50/16 tires, and I now run 215/40/16 without rubbing. If I were ordering wheels, I would bring them in more. There's plenty of run inboard and it'll allow you to run bigger tires.

CA i got fender mirrors, email me for pics

Check my bio, I can't load pics from my galaxy phone I just got. Email me at chris_r_allen@yahoo.com and I can send u some fender mirror pics. You got a good deal in my opinion for how rare SA'S are now. I would have to get double what you paid to let go of my baby.

Sweet!! Are those the factory fender mirriors? I like those on your car. The ones I found on ebay are different?

corkbone's mirrors do not look factory to me, I could be wrong, it might just be the angel of the picture.

I test fitted mine a while ago and never mounted it. I only have the drivers side mirror that came off of an SA from japan. The ones you posted that are on eBay are nice but pricey.

Well, she's in her new home in Miami. I went to the tag agency and they wanted the Title notarized and they wanted the cart inspected before they issued me a tag. So I had a cop inspect the car and the vin number and she's now 100% LEGAL!!!

I haven't had this much time driving a car in a long time There are a lot of things that I will change in the future, but for now I'm definitely going to add a full RB exhaust, cause this **** is loud as FU**!!

The car also is also running a 650 holley carb, which i read too big for a 12sp. I'm going to oder the RB 465cfm, which is pretuned for a 12sp and should make the car run much better. I'll change the wheels, and add fender mirrors in the future. I'll post updates, as they happen.

SA22C-103 is a crazy early vin....

the yellow looks great, the wheels need to go, and your upper radiator hose looks to be original...
