I'm Back.

Well as some of you may know, I sold my FB awhile back, not running(Ignitors bad, too many projects). Well, as of last week, I have my FB back, running with new ignitors. My freind and his wife have had a new baby, and 2 seats just aren't enough. He is not mechanically minded, so I am the one who installed the ignitors for him when he got them.

One thing I have noticed is that she seems to have alot more power than she use to, and runs alot smoother. This leads me to believe that I was running on one ignitor the whole time I was driving her. To add to this is the fact that she doesn't take 10 or more pumps on the gas pedal to get her started, and she doesn't have that raw gas smell- at least not as strong.

She still has her 1500 rpm idle, and I think that is still an adjustment in the carb, and she screeches at anything over 6000 rpm. I think I have an air leak under the carb that I have not managed to find yet. Right now I am using her as my daily driver, but I need to do an extensive detail job on her.

So, with a little TLC and some new weatherstripping around the doors, and some nice wheels (on the wish list), the pic in my avatar is once again accurate.

Later,
Bill

Congrats! Clean that beast up. How long has it been since the carb was rebuilt. Easy to do, and well worth your time. Weather stripping can be found at Advance Auto or Autozone. It's good stuff and works well.

Good luck.
