Ignition Trouble - I have checked everything i can think off
Hi Guys,
I have been building a Rotary beetle for some years now (as most of you know)
Iam about to get the engine started up , but the ignition system isn’t working.
I need some help figuring it out please.
My setup is the following :
2x Normal Diamond Coils
2x TP 500 Ignitors ( Normal magnetic pulse Ford) ignitor
Normal 1982 Rx7 Electronic dizzy.
The ignitors, coils, plugwires are all brand new.
I have the ignitor wired up correctly (verified this twice)
I have the coils wired up correctly. (verified this too)
The dizzy cap is neat, and the carbon “****” in the centre is fine, as are all of the contacts.
The field coils in the dizzy are producing a pulse when the dizzy turns as the engine management is showing the rpm in the setup screen when the engine cranks.
Iam completely stumped. There is spark when the ignition switch is turned on, but none when the engine turns.

sounds like you need to re-wire your entire ignition. to troubleshoot it, connect a wire from a 12 source to both coils + terminals. be sure that the wire from coil + to ignitor is good also. thats where I would start.
