Ignition timing/advance Q

Okay, I am taking a crash course in rotaries, that's okay though..... 1983 GSL with SK racing carb (Weber knock off). It looks like my rat's nest has been disconnected upon carb install. I didn't think much of it until getting a chance to stare at the engine compartment this morning without kids demanding my attention, and wife's honey-do list proliferating in my face. It looks like the distributor timing advance is vacuum actuated via the rat's nest. Is this accurate? If so, where have folks been routing the vacuum advance hose on weber equipped 7's? Or, should I hook up the rat's nest to the Weber? It is all there, with one large hose pinched off, presumably that went to the stock carb. Dave

just go through the rats nest removal and get rid of that stuff, then hook up the vac. advance directly to manifold vacuum.

just search rats nest and you'll get plenty.
