ignition cylinder

I'm sorry if this is a repost but I did try to search it first. I am trying to find out if an 84/85 FB ignition cylinder will fit on my 1980 SA? Anyone know what years are interchangeable?

79-80 81-83 84-85. those are the grouped years. You need either a 79 or 80

doc's right on the money. mazda did change the design of the cylinder ever so slightly over the years. also, the ignition switch electronics can differ as well.
