If its not one thing, its another...

85 GS with rats nest removed, details to original problem here (still having these same problems) https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/trying-identify-vacuum-leak-lots-problems-pics-812624/

So now, I removed my A/C just to clean up some room in the engine bay and simplify things, did it all cleanly so everything is still intact. After driving around, I noticed that my oil pressure was way low. I really don't think A/C removal has anything to do with it, but maybe I yanked on something during removal, I dunno, but It was around 30ft/lbs, and while driving, would drop to almost 0, then get around 50 at idle at times, but mostly around 30 or below.

Did I screw up the sensor or wires? Any pointers on what to check, if its something with the gauge, or maybe I did do something wrong and I'm really not getting good oil pressure.

The car seemed to drive fine, I just did an oil change (20/50), drove it around, exact same thing.

Electrical?

The stock gauge is pretty much worthless. Besides not having useful responsiveness, I've never seen one that read correctly. Therefore, I'd say it's almost certainly an electrical problem.

(Oh, and the units for oil pressure are PSI, not ft/lbs. )

oh dur, lol, minds been all over the place lately...

On an unrelated note, somebody stole all of my tools last night, left them on my gf's front porch one morning, woke up, gone. My heart dropped, ruined my whole day. When the GF got off work, she had a craftsman 180something set mechanics set, things are looking up, lol.

Check the oil pressure sender (mushroom deally under the filter) The wire just slides onto a pin and its not hard to knock loose.

I couldn't see what you were talking about

Checked the wire going from the Oil Level Sensor, couldn't tell what color it was, but was about a foot and a half long that was a male, went into the female engine chassis I believe, the wire coming out in the engine harness was BG (color) which then connected to the body harness I believe near the firewall passenger side.

I'm just trying to learn wiring, so bear with me.

Everything looked ok from what I could tell, lots of oil on the clip from the oil level sensor, but thats about it
