idle mixture... bogs, ect....
I just rebuilt the carb, but I know its done right...
stock 83 12a in an 82 GSL.....
The motor revs, then automatically de revs and the flapper valve ,in the intake, catches it and then it goes to 800...
then revs to 1400 and then drops again repeating the cycle...........
It will stall if I dont feather the throttle until about 2000 rpms....
when im cruising it wont go unless i punch it about 4 times, then it starts to work, (no filter so you hear that throaty sound, and it pulls when it starts to work!).....
So is it rich? or lean? seems to me rich....
The screw is turned 2 3/4 turns out...... so should i turn it out or in more?
Thanks, Andrew

First, who did the rebuild?
I turn in the idle mixture screw while idling, until it starts to die and then back it off 1 full turn.
Check your float level for both fuel bowls, the fuel needs to be exactly in the middle of the sight glass.
Did you change the jet sizes?
John

yeah... my shutter valve was sticking shut... and my anti after burn hose was fucked..... so ... its all working.... I think it was the anti afterburn hose..... it had some gas, like vapor building up at the bottom.... .and it gets hot..... it melted my silocone hose, and put a bubble in a rubber one..... that bastard......
well, yeah....
so i guess it needs a high temp one... or extra thick.... I dont ****** know... sick of this car... at least its not mine
I never worked on a stock car, besides a 1979 and 1980........... hehehe....

Well we are glad to hear that its fixed, but since this was a problem prior to the carb. overhaul, did it need one anyways?
The shutter valve function is to close on de-acceleration to limit the back fire/poping in the exhaust.
I plug mine off many moons ago.
