ideas on fixing SA security issue

theres a certain way to get into an SA even when its locked. if you dont know the way, you dont need to know. im looking for ways to get rid of this security issue. there arent a lot of 1st gen people in my area to where itd be a concern, but if i ever went somewhere to where someone knew this trick and i got my car broke into, thatd suck. well just let me know what you guys have done or thoguht about doing. thanks

if your taslking about the rear of the cars. then there are the holes inside that you can screw some sheet metal pieces to so they cannot reach through.

Go to your hardware store and see if the have security screws that take a specific style of screw driver.

live in a nicer place! most people here wouldnt steal the car if it was running with the door open.

or to put it another way, most of the theives that know how to steal these things are prolly over 40....

or to put it another way i locked the keys in mine and broke into it with part of the widnsheild wipers

well what are you gonna do. mayabe somebody else wants to know the same thing. I had no idea there were major security issues with the SA's, you should do a write up to help the rest of the community. But thats jsut my .02

If i were that worried about any of my cars i wold jsut go buy a really expensive alarm. that will usually do the job.

well i plan on getting an alarm installed, probably viper unless after some research i find a better option. along with that i plan on doing what trochoid sudgested and getting screws with special tips until i can think of a better alternative.

after posting this though and having a forum member pm me about a security issue i came accross the info that apparently uou can break into a first gen with a butter knife under the door handle. i never heard this before but he said he was getting good at it. so maybe thats something else we need to look into as well.

replace the screws with an odballed style screw head, and yeah most people that know about it are AROUND (not over) 40

I wouldn't worry lesss you have a honking big stereo in it though, in all reality if they want it, its theirs for the taking, a criscross X of tape, and center punch and 5 seconds will open any window without making too much noise.

the butter nife problem can be fixed by getting the little plates out of a FB that cover the hole by the lock rod, and bolting/tak welding it into place, that problem was addressed by mazda with the FB body style.
