i have nothing against people who buy expensive cars like that, but promise me you will use it for its purpose. Don't WEAR the car, DRIVE the car.

The Lotus would be a great choice!
I was faced with the same issue a few years ago. I wanted a new sports car to replace the my 7. I looked at Miata's (another good choice and was on my short list) and RX-8's (to be honest I was disappointed) as well as some pre-owned Porsche's. Then a friend of mine convinced me to try out a SVT Cobra and this is what I ended up with.
I ended up keeping my RX-7 since I could not part with it. I love both cars and you'd be suprised how many RX-7 owners own Mustang's and Cobra's.
