I was wondering about racing civics.

My neighbor is a Honda guy, did the B18 swap. He and several of his friends and I went to the 1/8 mile track a couple of summers ago, I took my NA 2nd gen, which is a full second faster in the 1/8 th than my 1st gen with the Mikuni and headers was the next summer.
Everyone of the modded Hondas beat the 2nd gen. Another trip to the track, a friend of mine with a lightly modded TII pulled the same times as a turboed Civic. The Civic would have smoked the TII if he had any traction off the line. As it was, he was spinning his tires 1/2 way through 3rd gear, almost to the end of the track. On the way back home they did a step down race at 100+ mph, that is where the TII showed it's true potential. The TII didn't walk, but ran away from the Civic at 140. Gearing was the key factor.
The 7 can lose, and lose badly to the Hondas, most of us are just too stubborn to admit it.

I have raced my stock 1982 GSL, still has the AC, leather interior, power windows, all that heavy stuff, versus my brothers 1989 Honda CRX that was stock, and beaten it easily from rolling starts, stops, down hills, uphills, everything. The RX would pull away noticably. Now he has a 1999 Civic CX hatchback, I have raced him again when my car was still stock and fully loaded with options and I still beat the car, rolling starts, stops, whatever.
Honda's can get quick though so watch out. As for them, "then just losing traction" yeah they lose traction. but its not like they sit in one place and spin their wheels, they are moving forward. And spinning the wheels is the only to get a front wheel drive out of the hole, just watch so pro front wheel drive drag racing.

on street tires lol. if they get too much hp. its uselss on the road.
lol my brother owned a hatchback si
he was runnnig through the roads almost hit somone. so we get behind him. we go off onto the highway, little traffic. lol my brother punches it on the 3rd hunk, before we were ready to race , he was a nice guy dont get me wrong, he was sitting their with his turbo switches lol. smiling.
we floored it and zoooooommm zooom zooom kicked in, lol. bye bye.
then our clutch nut came lose so we had to pull over and had to tighten it. a good race though.
he kept up a car length behind us.
brothers car: FC camden supercharger.

the 7 can't loose against the automatic civic with the fart can and crazy huge wing......but then again i've only raced one and just laugh at the others......every civic here is that same, i've really never seen one out here that i could take serious. i even pulled on an integra in my big body benz........

In a lightly modded FB you can take a stock civic, but I wouldn't be dissing Hondas to much. Go and race a GSR in your lighty modded 7 and most likey you will get you *** handed to you. All cars can be fast, its all about how much money you are willing to spend. As for all civics are slow (whoever said that), bullshit I have ridden in some pretty damn fast Hondas. My buddy has a EK hatch with a B20 V-TEC and ran a 12.7 on street tires.
