I want a FB..am I nuts?
Hehe. well, I've been thinking of the next car I want to get, and it was either gonna be a FD or a Turbo2. Now I think I've changed my mind and I want a FB. I really dont know all that much about them though, just know I'd want a 84-85GSL-SE. I now have a 86GXL, its really nice and clean, but just want something different. I've always like the styling of the FB's, plus their really light and I hear fun to drive. I like the fact that I could probably pick up one fairly cheap, which leaves me more money for mods MY goal with it would be to have a low-mid 14second, street/show car. It would be looking beautiful when I was done with it. Id like to know what mods I'd need to run mid-low 14's with a GSL-SE. I was thinking streetport/header/full exhaust/intake/maybe S-AFC should do it. Also, if anyone could post some pics of really nice looking FB's, just to get me fired up, Id like that Thanks

IMO the T2 is the best all around rotary vehicle, (barring the ultimate rotary, a T2 swap in to a FB/SA). The creature comforts , the independent rear, the relatively cheap power, and damn these things can be quick.
I would have a t2 if It were not for the addiction I have for 1st gens.
I would love a T2 powered Fb (someday).
That said the FD is the best looking car on the road today. I have seen a few better looking cars, but they are usally in musuems and collections, not driven.

For me, the FB was the only thing in my price range that wasn't a total beater car.
But if I wouldn't have been able to get an FB, I would've gone for a Datsun or something.
The styling is REALLY attractive on both cars... I can't even tell why. Whenever I look at my car, I can't help but just stare and wonder, "How the hell does a guy like me get to drive a car like that?"
FBs aren't the fastest things ever, but they sure are pretty. And chicks seem to dig the compactness and styling too. Whenever they talk to me about my car, they're at a loss for words. It's usually either, "I really like your little car." or "I've seen cars like it, but they... uh... dont.. have the same.. uh... stuff."
And I'm just like, "You took the words right out of my mouth."
And yeah, I think the ultimate car would be a FB with a T2 in it.

Price
Yes, an FB is cheaper than an FD, but take it from my experience, don't think just because you pick it up for cheap it won't cost you. I figure by the time I'm done and looking pretty with small mods and a street car, I'm going to be between $12k-$16K. Now, of course, that's stretched over time, a little at a time. I just talked to another FB owner who has $17k into his in the 3 years he has owned it. It really adds up. Now that I've said that, I say get the FB. I love mine.

Hah I am the same way. I always just look at my car and it puts the biggest smile on my face. Just knowing Its my car and that its one of a kind. Anyway Most chicks seem to like mine as well. I dont know what it is about it. Its nice to have a car where you drive by someone and they just stare at you. I just got a rebuilt in it that is made for a turbo so when I get enough $ I am petting one on

And then dyno day the following Tuesday, if I remember right...
And then, to tease Directfreak again, another dyno shot...this time showing the hood openings which were to get louver plates before a new Cadillac steered into my life and destroyed my poor rex....

mar3: You are at Alamo!! I used to get all my work done there ... back in my Integra days when I didn't know jack about cars.
yayarx7: Yes I mean on my FD. I'm sure I'll break some parts on my FB soon enough.
