I think I'm over complicating this.

Exhaust/turbo, its been done to death. But here is one more grenade to lob into the fray.

RB sells a center section which is meant to hook up to the two exit header. Its two 2 in. pipes each containing one presilencer. Is this enough for a roughly moderate turbo 12a turbo setup?

And it seems like going from a single pipe after the turbo, then splitting it into two pipes, then either recombing it into one pipe to the muffler or keeping them seperate. Either way, is this over complicating it, and just asking for excessive back pressure since it'll be converging/diverging/converging?

side note:did a search and some dude made mention that the presilencers were acutally 1.5 in. diameter. Any truth in this?

i think thats too much backpressure IMO. more turns = more resistance.

Agreed. Though I'm wondering if you simple went from a single collector into two pipes then ran them as such, as long as the intial split was somewhat gradual, that it might be all right.

The reason I'm considering it is that I want to run a presilencer, and one that will last. You can buy the mid-pipe with two presilencers for 360.00, meanwhile the presilencers alone cost about 160-180.

Also the cross sectional area of two 2 in. pipes is roughly 25 sq. in. and a three in. pipe would have roughly 28 sq. in. of area. Unless this is flawed logic it seems comparable, though if the presilencers constrict to 1.50 in. then not so much. At which point I'll probably true another route.

Yeah, it's over complicating it. Keep in mind that the turbo itself is worth 1 pre-silencer because the exhaust blades break up the wave pulse. Run 2-1/2 to 3" pipe from there with 1 silencer and a muffler. Iirc, RB does make a larger diameter presilencer, but a Borla is cheaper and I know for a fact works quite well on a TII.

2.5 was my first thought, but I got carried away with all the shiny hardware on the RB website.

Danke Trochoid and Jeezus.
