I know of an '80 and an '81
Yeah. An '80 and an '81 just getting older. Side by side. Out in the elements and looking very sad.
If either one would be put back on the road, wow, lots of work me thinks. However, I think the '81 was parked with the engine still in running condition, some years back.

Owned by my bro-in-law who just doesn't have a clue & they will rot away to nothing if I don't do something for them.
I can't go much into detail right now cuz I really don't know squat about either of them much at all. I can find out some things if asked & I don't have to get too dirty to find out. Believe me, my interest in this matter is extremely limited.
Stones' throw from my house.
Any interest?

I was going by memory, could have lost a big bet on this one. I have now dug-up some info on them...
UPATED INFO:
JM1FB3319B0503295 is a 1981 with sunroof. It is either a charcoal gray or was black at some point in the past. This is the one that was in some form of running condition when parked, so I was told. It has a MT. Odometer says 161,128.
JM1FB3312C0638247 is a 1982 without sunroof and is white. It also has a MT. Odometer says 175,253.
The "black" '81 is much more intact inside the engine compartment as well as the passenger compartment, although it is not by any stretch of the imagination, in roadworthy condition.
The white '82 interior is just about totally missing. So is its rear glass hatch and its radiator, to mention a couple major things...
On the positive side, both cars seem to be in sound condition body-wise, with no obvious noteworthy colision damage. A bumper askew here or there perhaps, some busted lenses... not all of them though! The paint jobs are a lost cause on both. Sheet metal not rusted at a casual glance.
Both have their engines & trannies. The '81 black is more intact, ancillary-wise.
I took pix this evening with my daughter's camera. All I need now is her special USB cable to get them out. Logistics problem. If they come out ok, I will endeavor to post pix tomorrow night.
That's about it for now. Pix tomorrow! (I hope...)
btw, Dcrasta, wheelwells? Do they come off somehow, or are you talking about buying the whole body for them? I don't think anyone's gonna torch them outta there for you... Waddup wit dat?

Ok, what gives?...
Well, I have 13 jpg's. Problem is, this forum isn't getting them up, it just pukes when I submit an attached jpg file (only 33k, last time I tried). Sweet.
btw, the white '82 DOES have a sunroof. FWIW...

Thanks a million KC Shaw! Fine job!
Except for the one pic of the white car in the first post, she did very well in splitting the two cars into her two posts above. Thanks!
The cars were not prepped in any way whatsoever. I just went over there and started clicking-away. Even left those carb's on the hood of the white one
Don't let the dead leaves & pinestraw fool you, that's not rustyness, that's tree debris.
OK, so, first purchaser gets a free Diehard battery! (1st post, 4th pic). Hehe...

I'm not the one selling them. I'm waiting for an answer from them for you. I'm playing middleman so as to help them out and I hate those cars just sitting like this. You wanna make an offer?
I'm in Lugoff, SC and the cars are in Elgin, SC about 5 minutes away.

I know. My son just turned 16 and needed a car. Of course, , he insisted on an RX-7. We toyed with the idea of using both of these + whatever else, we would buy, to make 1 good one. Well, I think the thought of all the work involved, no car in the meantime, bad logistics that had to be worked out, uh, kind of scared him off the idea. He found a good '91 out of Charleston that he bought. Of course, he wants me to help fix up that one. It runs ok and all, but, you know, 13 year old cars are typically not all that new anymore, and neither is that one. So these two are out of our picture. So I'm trying to find them a good home or 2 anyway. So, that's what this thread is all about.

Maybe so... dunno. No offer is too low to come to this table though.
To put things into perspective though, as to how much $700 is nowadays, I have just ordered a set of 4 Yokohama Avid V4S (so-so) tires for my MX-6 from Tirerack. Price of order = $329 It also needs a CV joint on the right side, a rotor turned & front end alignment. This will all be done when the drop-shipped tires arrive at the store on Friday. Combines, I'm looking at about $700 total. And for what? Not a whole heck of a lot.
About 20 years ago, I bought just the front suspension out of a Porsche 914 (Totaled from a rear-ender) for $500. That was a very good deal - 20 years ago.
My monthly loan payment for my RX-8 ~ $700.
But, anyway, come-on with the offers - any offers. Like I said up-front, this is just a help-them-out deal. I'm not getting one red cent from it... No more responses - this thread dies.
