alright, i said i was THINKING about taking them to court (or maybe i forgot to put in the word thinking), not for a lawsuit, because i did break the law, i can't deny that. I'd take them to court because I asked her to wait 10 minutes until i got home so i could put the wheel back on and move the car, i'd pay the ticket and the tow truck. Because they didn't wait, my car was damaged.

We just moved in back in late August, and the neighbor lady refuses to meet us because we're just "more college ********". Her husband is pretty cool, but he explained to us that she'd rather call the cops than come and talk to anyone about any problems she has with them. In other words, she needs to grow some ***** and learn how to confront people.

the car was there for four hours tops when they went to tow it. I had already been told by my room mates that i'd get ticketed, and i was fine with that, but none of us thought that the tow company would attempt to tow the car without a flatbed, it's just unsafe and could damage my vehicle/other vehicles when (not if, when) it fell off of the tow truck (it almost fell once when they went to put it in the driveway). They didn't chain the right front suspension to the tow truck, they were going to just tow it with that part resting on a 4x4.

I never really understood the meaning of this until this past year, when I purchased my first home. Now that I actually own something tangible like this, I find that I really do care about the condition of my neighborhood. I bitch about people throwing trash around, exceeding the speed limit, barking neglected dogs, all that ****. And I'll tell you this much, I'm not investing 1400 dollars a month into this place to have the people living around me turn the neighborhood into a white trash zone. If my neighbor parked his car on the sidewalk to work on it, and ended up leaving it there for a bit too long (whatever the reason) I would probably be over there having a word with him. But I would be nice about it because I can remember that I might have done the same sort of thing not that long ago.

As far as sueing someone, I wish you luck but I think it will be a lost cause. Anything relating to the business of the city, and you might as well bend over and grab your ankles. I let my 240Z sit for a while waiting on repairs (years ago), and the registration ran out by the time I got it fixed because I forgot all about it (apparently). The day I got it running again, I got pulled over by the biggest ***** you've ever met. He was incredibly obnoxious and just an *** in general. It was obvious that this guy was doing this because he had spotted the expired plates earlier and had been waiting for me to drive it again. He just plain out didn't like me. Ticket issued, ticket paid, registration renewed, all within 24 hours. Well, the next day (after issue resolved) my neighbor is pounding on my door to tell me that they are towing my car. I go running out there and sure enough, there's the truck and that same fn cop sob. I'm like wtf, why are they towing it. The cop looks me straight in the eye and says "registration's expired, so it can't be parked on the street". Of course I tell him he'd better take another look, because it has been registered and the plate is right there in front of us with the proper sticker and everything. His response, "oh yeah, didn't see that. Well, since the truck is already here, we're still going to have to tow it unless you pay him the 45 dollar towing fee". Long story short, there was nothing I could do and had to pay it. Pursued it through Internal Affairs and they humored me while they gave me the runaround. Then politely put the boot to my **** and told me to beat it.

Anyway, your situation kinda struck close to home (hence the long reply) so I can understand your frustration. Accept the inevitable fact that they will make you follow the rules in the city, rather than waste your time trying to fight them over it. There are better ways to expend your energies. Good luck with it though, maybe if you've got that lawyer in your pocket you will be able to get something going.
I would have been fine with moving it if she had just come over and asked me to, or told me that it bothered her. read my post above.

i think i'm done with my rant for now

read my post for all those who have lost sympathy about me saying that i was going to sue them just because my brother in law is a lawyer. I said that if they had towed it and dropped my 7 i would have taken them to court, not that i was going to take them to court because i got a ticket.

Well, tell her that, and say that she now has a next door enemy because she was too shy to talk about her concern about your car before calling the cops.

Damn Liberals. I'll never live in the city because they rule them. With all their laws they make law abiding good people into criminals but stand up for the real criminals calling them "victims".

Yep, Ann Arbor is 6 sq. miles surrounded by reality. Good art shows though... and what's that football team??? (I'm a useless nut... a Buckeye) Anyway the neighbors yard might need some Roundup in various places or even more stealth, fertilizer. How about a big rounded off triangle? Like a rotor! She's never seen one, wouldn't know what it is.
I've got the city of St Pete Bch after me for an unlicensed vehicle on my property, I have a 323GTX waiting its turn in the shop and $12,000 a year in property taxes says I'm going to keep it here! I just bought a "trailer"for $50 made out of old bedframes or something, bought a tag for it, put the car on it, neighbors and city hate it but its LEGAL! How's that for a big middle finger.

generally i'm not a football fan, but if people ask me who i like, i'm a buckeye fan also. the fertalizer season is pretty much over up here, but my little bro works for a hardware store, so i have the hookup all year. if i decide to do the fertalizer, i'll post some pics.

i finished up the brake job today, fixed the brake dust shield, and inspected the oil cooler. Fixing the brake dust shield involved removing it completely. the oil cooler is fine, and i bent the undertray back (for the most part) by hand by just pushing it down.

Yes, whatever is touching the ground has to be tagged. Since a trailer doesn't require insurance to get a tag--- bingo---- all of a sudden its a cheap trailer tag instead of tag plus insurance for a car. Code inforcer guy knew he was screwed and now it looks worse than before, double bonus! Don't try these kinds of stunts without a helmet kids!

In Las Cruces here, they're legal as long as they're not in clear view of the street. I just happen to have a backyard with an alley leading to it (dirt paved, just big enough to fit a vehicle through). It's not technically a street, so if we can cram cars back there in our back yards, they're legal. That was handy for when my RX7 was non-running (it still isn't registered! I share its plate with my 323, because they are both classified as "WHT MZD" hatchbacks. Like a NORMAL cop is going to know the difference between the 323 and the RX7
I'm also smart enough to have greased over the etched vin, and swap the two metal tags when I drive one or the other (the 323 has been down for a month, so the RX7 has it easy)

George Hayduke

George Hayduke wrote several books on taking revenge. Just don't get caught, and if you do, don't say I told you about George Hayduke.

Once at work, I shipped a color TV to a manager that I hated. Everyone wonderred what impropietary this manager did to get a color TV.

Guess I aint normal!

Thats crazy though...Im glad I live in AL...only a few citys have ordinances like that. Im sorry..but I pay property tax..and I own my land..im gonna park whatever I want to wherever I want to. I agree that a yard full of broken down cars is an eyesore and something should be done about it, But 1 car is not hurting anyone.

If you believe in personal property rights and don't believe that unelected government beurocrats should control your life through pointless rules and regulations you don't sound too liberal to me.

Many people who consider themselves liberals are actually libertarians which are completely different. The political spectrum isn't as simple as left-right but don't expect the public schools to teach that.

Here is a little quiz that can tell you where you stand politically. There is one that is setup the same but with more questions but I can't remember the site.

http://www.self-gov.org/quiz.html

Anyway, sorry if I got a little off topic but I would do whatever I could to get money back. You'll never get money from the city because 99.9% of those in government on both sides of the aisle care primarily about protecting the government which is why it keeps getting bigger. The tow truck company and/or driver is your best bet to get your money back.

sugar is o.k., a small paper bag wadded up in her gas filler tube is better. turns to pulp when gas hits it, and she has to change gas tanks before she can stop changing fuel filters. or a quart of muratic acid...it'll eat everything metal that contacts the fuel system (fuel pump, lines, tank, heads, valves, cylinders, pistons, etc. etc. etc.). or maybe mothballs, a guy i used to work with competed in antique tractor pulls, and to get more power, they added mothballs to their gas. then again, the mixture burns really hot, and he had to re-build his engine about once a year.

I honestly have no sympathy for you whatsoever.

Leaving a car partially disasemmbled on a public road is a big no-no. You're lucky you got back in time to stop the towing company from taking your car.

That's the other thing, though. The sidewalk is NOT your property, it is the property of the city/state that you live in. You parked your car on government land, buddy.
