Final mounting is done, now I'm just waiting for my header flanges to get here so I can make a jig and throw together a manifold.
I had to work really hard to get it under the radiator shroud and clear the hood, cause you know I gotta hide my goods when it's time to make that money on the street

Well, I tried every way that I could think of and blew my back out in the process. That turbo is frickin heavy.
Anyhow, I'll about about 4.5 inches between the turbo and radiator and plenty of room between the turbo and engine since I'll be running a electric water pump.
The reason I didn't mount the turbo closer to the engine was because I wanted some distance for air intake temps to drop before reaching the throttle body. I'll be running methanol injection so I wanted to give it some room to do some cooling. If that makes sense.
Plus, it looks kinda cool sitting there or atleast different

SS 2.25 inch Tubing was delivered today, turbo flange is here, motor flange will hopefull be here saturday (Thanks Aspec), picked up the SS wire........... Hopefully I can build my jig this weekend. If not, I'll atleast be able to start forming my 2.25 inch round tubing to fit into the rectangular T6 flange holes.
Going to use a vise and some heat to form them. I'm pretty sure the tubing will end up being too big to fit inside the t6 flange, though
So, not sure what the best way to approach that is.

Just curious as to what material your going to be using for the header. Ive been told by some header fabricators that using mild steel flanges with 304 SS tubing works great and they never warp or crack. You just need the right filler rod to TIG the mild to stainless.

One more thing.....how long to you expect the primary tubes to be with the turbo mounted waaaay out there like that.
Ive read a couple different threads about your build and was wondering if you have a 4 link setup figured out yet for it or not....if you already covered it, then just tell me to **** off

Back to your question, I plan on the header lasting plenty long. "If" it gets hurt, I can always repair it myself or build a better design. I've only got $100 in SS tubing so the materials are somewhat cheap.
The header won't be supporting any weight. I'm going to mount the turbo to the engine with a brace/rodend doooo-hickey. So, instead of bolting the turbo to the manifold, I'll actually be bolting the header to the turbo.
The rearend, I think I've posted a few pictures of what I've got sitting in the garage. If not, I can post pics.
It's a Moser 8.8, Moser Spool, Moser 4.56 Gears, Moser 31 Spline Race Axles with Star Flanges, www.chassisworks.com 4 link and umm........ I think that's it.
It's going to be mini-tubbed and run the mickey thompson P325/50R15 drag radials.

So, today............ I did a little cutting, torching, hammering, stomping, banging and welding on some SS tubing.
Making two 12 inch long round 2.25 OD tubing fit inside two small rectangles (Divided T6 Flange) isn't easy but I finally made it happen. Two 12 inch long 2.25 OD pipes coming off the turbo looks pretty crazy .
Just waiting for the engine flange from aspec to get here so I can start on the bends and jig.

Well I knew you'd be bracing the turbo, but what I meant was how do you think spool time and turbo response will be with such long runners? Did you calculate any of that, or is 12" just where it ends up being. I'm just curious because I'm mocking up a large single turbo Cosmo RE engine in an RX-8 and I'm thinking I might locate the turbo in front of the engine like you did.

I somewhat finished my manifold and it totally kicked my ***.
Still needs some cleaning up, need to grind down some welds etc. etc. etc. 25 inch primaries. 2.25 od.
I think my eye ***** are sunburnt.
First picture is before welding it together. Packing tape came in useful.

I was wondering what happened to you. Checked out your photobucket and seen the rx7. Looks good, bet you which you would of went this route a while ago. What do you end up doing with the rolla?
