I Failed My Inspection
Well i knew good and well i did not have HALF the stuff needed to pass but the guy passed my truck two months ago and there was belt showing on the tires. i took the car in, he knows my wife from her bringing in my truck and her honda, and also because she is a taxidermist. well he pulled it in and went to the computer and started filling in the blanks. ok, those systems ask how many cylinders or type "R" for rotary. the guy went back to the car stood there and said "so its a 4 cylinder huh", i said NO its a 12a rotary. he told me i dont know what that means, ill just put 4 cylinder. I said to him well the screen there says push R for rotarys, his response "hell i dont know about none of that and any ways this thing dont take anything but numbers so R wont work" (PRICELESS).... so the inspection goes on, the whole time im playing stupid knowing he will realize i dont have anything i should. he asked to see the pcv, i showed him the one on the crankcase ventalition, check.... so where is your AIS, i told him it did not have one, and if it did where woudl it hook to on the exhaust (RB HEADER) FAILED, then he wants a charcoal canister, tryed to talk him in to believeing it was in side my custom intake, he didnot buy it FAILED. so basically i tryed my best to play dumb but did not work. he told me he got busted not to long ago for passing stuff and he cant do it any more. so he told me to get the charcoal canister and make it look right, and then come up with some fake looking AIS, and make it look right. he said all he does is a visual and that is what matters.
now the charcoal canister is a piece of cake but the AIS is a little tricky. any body got suggestions, i need to make something look creditable but not working. i told him they make ones that are electrical and he said as long as there is a hose to the exhaust he will pass it.

well in NC they legally only have to see its there. the inspection places dont have to test your equipment here. I plan on takeing off the air pump and carcoal canister off the parts car i got and using them for a saturday then yank it all back off, its just a hassel, last yr was no problem.
