Man, that story made me go get a beer to cheer me up some. Then I find out it's from last year, jeeze, now I'm gonna have to get another one to fix the painful memories of crashing my rex....at least mine wasn't totaled. And I guess I can't hate timmy, because he gave me an excuse to grab some beers.
Dude, next time warn us that it's an old thread so a bunch of grown men don't start sniffling over cars they've lost and loved.

Aarrgh..This post brought back memories. I've lost 3 ReX's..3! 1st was my 81 GSL w/ street port, then 2 clean SE's.
NO more!... I'm resilient and I love 7's and rotaries too much to quit. I have parts from the previous cars in my current SE and things just get better

This is a sad story, but he did bring up a good point. Don't you love it when people ask you if it's a porshe? A buddy of mine didn't want to tell me this story because he knew it'd go right to my head but he ended up telling me anyway: One night he was coming by to pick me up and this guy he knows was driving him, and my buddy pointed to my house and said "it's that one on the left", and the guy driving said "The one with the porshe in the driveway".
Yes, that 82 GS that's seen better days, and is slowly being taken over by rust is still masquerading as a porshe in the eyes of some people.
Also, I was talking about my car the other day with my ex-girlfriend (possibly a reason why she's my "ex"-girlfriend. she doesn't like the rx-7 talk too much), and I asked her if she knew what kind of car I drove. She thought it was, and I quote "A mini-corvette". She also said that she thought it was "probably a '96 model". So apparently it's age doesn't show too much...
