I am thinking fuel filter clogged...
So the car loves cold weather. A lot! Long story short, go through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd WOT. Let off the gas at about 6k, and coast. Turn into my neighborhood, and as I turn in (still no gas) I can tell something's up. Put her in 2nd to get up the hill, and no power. Sounds like a Subie boxer engine.
I am leaning to fuel filter, as I had less than a quarter tank of gas. Just to be sure, I pull the plugs, and get all the wooshes saying the apex's are intact (darn!). Fuel goes into the carb evenly. Nothing built up on the plugs. Haven't checked the first filter (its those kinds you can't see through) but the filter before the carb is clear.

i'd just replace the fuel filter. that way you know its out of the equation.. i think at this point if i know i'm getting fuel and spark, vacuum leaks checked, i would pull the carb and rebuild it.

Might want to verify that you still have spark on the leading side. Otherwise, I'd agree with fuel filter because even if you're wrong, you'll at least have a good filter in there.

When its runnning pull the leading plug wire one at a time and see what happens.
If you pull one and it dies, then thats the rotor thats firing.
If you then do the other and it still idles the same then for some reason that rotor is not firing.
Its either an ignition issue or on the intake that side is not getting fuel. If you pull the plug and its wet then its probably an ignition problem.
If pulling either one makes no difference then its not an ignition issue and could be an intake or seal problem. I'd prolly pull the carb at this point and clean it real good, especially the bottom of the bowls and blow air through everything. You already checked and seem to think the compression is good.

Ok, swapped the fuel filter today. I am getting gas to the carb, and when I start it, there is no gas going into the engine. I had my father crank it and I saw no gas going down the venturies. the Acc pump will push about 6 drops out, but no fuel after that. Even pumping it, the car will not start. Irritating.

Also, I was pumping the **** out of the gas pedal, enough to flood it under the usual circumstances. still wouldnt crank after a full minute of pumping and spinning it over. Pulled the plugs and none were even wet, with the rear leading having a tiny moist spot on one of the metal... electrodes?

Floats or needle valves are stuck. Bang on the top of the car with something that won't damage it, like a plastic headed hammer. Or place the plastic handle of a crewdriver on the top of the carb, then hit that with a hammer. Or, to do it the right way, pull the top of the carb of and free them up by hand....

TUNING IN REAL TIME!
Ok, so I got the top of the carb off. Moved the needles and they are perfect. floats and whatnot, everything is good. I went ahead and pulled all the things off the carb that I could and used the air compressor and blew air through it all. Wish me luck.

Don't Nikki's like about 3.5-4 psi? Stu: do you have a Nikki on there right now or a different carb?
What about a stuck shutter valve or something like that?
I think it would help if you listed everything you got on there (what pump, carb, reg (or no reg), etc.).

so just to clarify, you're getting gas into the carb, but it's not going into the engine? ..... also just for ***** and giggles idk if your FP is connected to the trailing ignitor but check for loose connections. i know when mine went (T ignitor) i would pump some gas into the carb and it would start but feel like didn't have any power, then i'd have to keep pumping or else it would stall and eventually it would stall anyways, ...just an idea.

Stock nikki, everything stripped off of it. Carter fuel pump, holly FPG, set at 3psi and made no difference. It has me stumped. It worked great until I rowed through the gears, then went to crap.

What if you pour a little gas down the carb..does it run better?
Could also be a bad clog in the pickup tubes or screen. Try to do a volumn test (this will help to tell you if you might have a bad pump or a blockage).
Have you tried different plugs (might have a bad one)? Have you tried swapping coil/sparkplug wires? Might have a bad one in the bunch. Did you reuse the same plugs wires when you tried 2GCDFIS? Have you tried to throw a timing light on there (on each wire) to make sure that you are getting an even spark all around?

If one rotor isn't firing, then it will sound funny and have no power..so at least check over the ignition stuff to rule that out.
Do the volume test for the pump. Then you can always use the gas collected during the test to pour down the carb (if needed). The volume test is easy to do and will only take about a minute. That would rule out pump/clogs. The clogs would have to be really bad to restrict the fuel flow enough to hurt idle, though.
Just get a gallon (or half gallon) jug, put the carb feed into the jug, turn the pump on and time for 1 minute. After 1 minute is up, tell us how much gas you have in the jug.
It sounds mostly like a carb problem (clogged jets or something), but you already rebuilt it. So, rule out ignition and fuel supply and then you can go back to checking the carb.
